In NC, if you are deprived of snow just head west to the mountains. I do understand it’s not equivalent to snow IMBY but it gives you a fix haha

Dude …. If it wasn’t for my wife (She’ll leave me like the last one did at some point I’m sure bc I’m an asshole) I would be so tucked into some Holler at 5K feet you’d never see me again. Just take my Laptop, withdraw my 401K, Sell everything and Keep my Work from home job and Gamble for side income. I found a 2BR Condo ON TOP of Beech for like 250K says on Topography Map it’s like 5500’ at the top where building is

The 18Z Euro is also trending south with the snow in the Western Gulf. However it stubbornly refuse to remove the 3-5 inch snowfall totals from the Florida Panhandle to Coastal NC for whatever reason despite of having no support from the other model guidance. Hopefully the SE trend continues for the next 36 hours in the Gulf, so at very least we won't have to say that New Orleans have more snow than areas like Macon, Augusta or Columbia has so far this decade.

Yeah, SC is horrible for winter weather enthusiasts. Either last year or the last parts of the panhandle of FL got some snow and HI did too. SC was literally the only state not to have any snow. Our position inthe lee of the mountains and such make it almost impossible to get good winter weather here.

I love living in the south where these Winter Storms fizzle out. People whine if they don't see snow here is laughable. If it's that bad Just move to Maine. Now Bring on Spring and 85° Storms

Hot take:
Every year you don't get snow, and get burned on set ups that lead to disappointment, it just makes the prize that much sweeter when it all comes together.
People in the Northeast(or midsouth)... will never know what it's like to go so long with nothing and constantly get burned, and then finally cash in. There's few things in life for me that compare to the euphoria when the first flakes start falling and I know I'm getting hammered.
That being said, I've still never experienced a 6+ inch snow in my back yard. It's my white whale.
I keep hope alive that, one day, It will happen, and very few snow weenies will ever know what that moment feels like because they haven't been on a lifelong quest for it.

Truly the difference in 1/4-1/2 inch or a 1-2 inch event here. I can’t leave the threat because of how cold temps are and how significant just a little bit of snow will be to the commute.

Where to? If you don’t like thunderstorms much I’d suggest New England and the Great Lakes! You’ll get tons of snow , to your hearts content . Rochester , Syracuse , Buffalo are all great cities with much better amenities than larger towns like Raleigh… Tug Hill NY man ! Most lake effect snow , there’s orographic lift there too with the lake effect. If you really really really hate warm weather and want barely summers at all, anchorage, Fairbanks, lake placid ny and the Adirondack’s in general are great . Epic places really , not for me but epic
I don’t really think anything like Jan 2000 can happen anymore as far as getting completely blindsided model wise. I often wonder if a modern CAM would have sniffed it out
