Misc Cold Season Complaining

Thankfully the AI models are already doing it better, overall. We weather model chasers just always look for a way that it could snow, even when all guidance says not lilikely.
Can anyone show us more specific storm examples of the ai being so awesome because a sample size of one isn't a lot to go off of. In fact the last storm everyone keeps pointing to it dramatically underestimated snow over the ms valley

I’m out today too @Shawn …. Weather was much more enjoyable before I checked it every 4hrs. And just followed reputable ppl on social media lol. No, not saying none of you guys are Reputable lmao some VERY intelligent ppl in here. But, like Brian Scalibrine told some guy at the Y…”I’m much closer to LeBron than you are to me” that’s us vs even the worst actual Meteorologist

Don’t worry. Your southwesterly winds are gone. They will be out of the north the rest of the week while it’s snowing at your favorite July vacation spot. Warming climate picks and chooses I guess?
If we're not going to snow I say bring on the single digits or below zero temps, get something worthwhile out of this front!

And just what the hell do you know that the "Experts" don't?
Lol what’s wrong with you. It doesn’t take an expert to know that most of us above I-20 ain’t seeing more than snow flurries at best. Not anything to get angry over it is what it is. I would say something crazy could happen but not really with the technology we have today.

You will get 1-2”

Meh, I am going to sit over here drinking my ice cold whiskey and maintain hope that something will change for North East Alabama. Even 2 inches with the temps that low will be exciting. I refuse to leave the denial stage.

Also the goal posts moving on the complaining is fun to watch

"It's never cold anymore" 2 Basically BN winter months, "it's not cold enough", "it's wasted cold", "I'm tired of cold"

"We never get fantasy snows anymore" blizzards on models, "they aren't inside x hours"

"It hasn't snowed at my house", gets accumulating snow, "it wasn't enough", "it only snowed for x hours".

"Global warming has ruined it for our region" snow along the gulf coast, "crickets"

I'm chuckling at your avatar. Frankly, Brad P. shouldn't be mocked much.
He’s not a bad met, or person, I’m sure!
His forecasting of snow by the least snowy model or saying no snow, just gets annoying

The MPAS suite is going to give everyone hope by tomorrow @ 12z

The GRAF model is just a modified MPAS from IBM/The Weather Company

@bouncycorn do you run MPAS in house at all? I think the HRRR initialization variables is the standard way to run it, but I've seen the GFDL and stuff too. Is there any way we can start it with the DWD-ICON or ECMWF initialization variables and make a very accurate 6-12 hour model?
