Just plain evil.
We kinda knew that what the CMC was showing was not really realistic, but for the Europeans to show something that'd make us very happy for two runs really (0z and 6z) and then snap back to dry would be a punch in the gut since we like to trust the Euro more than the GFS.
I'm pulling for ya Jimmy!!! Big Frost is taking this storm off. May be our last one of this winter anyway. Hope you score big my man!

I think there comes a point where you have to just do your absolute best to realize it’s just not that big a deal. It can be tough bc we all love the snow and easy to get mad when things swing bad and ppl get cranky. But I would just remember it’s simply not that deep. Can’t change what others are doing
6z I believe does not have any (or at least reduced) new dropsonde or balloon data inputs and just uses earlier extrapolation and other surface and other data inputs. Could be wrong here. 12z will have all new inputs I'm pretty sure.

Since I’m dealing with only cold and dry next week I need to catch up on sleep and drink plenty of beers to relieve stress from snow

Yes but that snow been melted away now and I been spoiled from it. Trust me I don’t see snow often and when it did snow I been wanting to see another one come through.
True. From the psychological perspective the weather model watching sports analogy people get sucked into is that of a close basketball game when in reality it's more of a baseball game.

I mean I've been pretty resigned to the fact this isn't going to be what we wanted when we lost the cutoff. It's just hard to take the main thread seriously when there's 1 or 2 valuable posts then 50 bittercasting, wishcasting, reminiscing posts mixed in

Screw the euro for that bullcrap 00z run. I was content with not getting anything before I saw that.
Show starts in 90 hours towards the East. How many times have you reeled a storm in from 90hr out in the last 10 years? Im setting the over/under at 1. It’s Saturday afternoon. We ain’t done
The issue with -------- isn’t his forecasting. It’s that he likes to grandstand, and he likes to be a contrarian for his own fun and attention, and be like why are people posting models 7 days out like we should just listen to him and not bother until he says it’s going to snow. He just has a bad schtick

A record cold January with at least normal if not above normal precip and we’re going to have almost nothing to show for it.
We are all guilty of breaking the rules, staff included. But you can't just go to the main thread and keep hammering home the AIFS runs and rubbing no snow in everyone's face without expecting the forum to rage.
At least when I try to keep it realistic, I try to keep it here.
I saw it with the last storm too . Some people speaking in literals and gloating how the transition line was moving into NC.
Passive aggressive and annoying.
It sucks even more cause staff gets reports constantly because people get upset and then it just snowballs. Then we have to figure out how to deal with it.

We’re honestly in that range where globals really start losing these things and short range becomes the data of choice. When those start showing a fail, I will wave the white flag, but so far, so good
Do not understand the meltdowns whatsoever today. It’s 100% clear that 90% on this board can’t handle the run to run changes. None of my backyard storms have looked great at this stage on all models. Quite frankly I damn sure wouldn’t want it to because then I’d lose it to Huntsville or Nashville. Listen to Webb, listen to the WPC, listen to the NWS. Lot of people who don’t normally see snow are still in play.
1/28/14 and 12/7/17 looked much more dismal then where we are at now at this lead point. Again, look at the current storm to the NE. Just chill the hell out. I just dropped $400 at Publix and Costco. Probably was the reason these 12z runs sucked. I’m pumped for the next 90 hours! Let’s go!
