Misc Cold Season Complaining

We are inside day 4 and the 6z GEFS was almost a whiff for both CLT and RDU. We can keep saying the GFS is going to shift NW but we need the ensemble to show more than just 2 members with more than a dusting.

Those dustings are 1 inch snows with the ratio's. We can't be picky here, take what you can get.

Yes but trust me after seeing that I became greedy for more lol

Your average is just under 2 inches a year, so you just got over 3 years worth 😂

I feel you on the greed as we saw snow last week as well, but missing it to our south doesn’t hurt me as bad as missing it north. We’ve lost it to your area for the last 7 years.

I agree especially considering the folks in the deep south is long overdue for a big one and well deserved.

You can shift the 00zCMC to a much flatter solution and we are still scoring 2-4 inches from this finger of precip it currently has developing to our north.

A complete whiff would be a disappointment. I just try to set low expectations, so I can actually enjoy what happens even if it's not ideal.

A heavy dusting with temps in the low 20's is 1000% better than nothing.
A great event for me would be 2-3”. That shouldn’t be that hard but it’s been 3+ years now.

Nothing like waking up to a good cup of coffee and watching the cliff jumpers trying to climb back up the cliff. Good job Captain Canada, keep on holding the line!

After the low country runs these totals back on Wednesday, they will have had more 4”+ snowfalls since 2018 than the I-85 crowd have had

The 2018 bomb cyclone was the 3rd highest snowfall total for Charleston since 1989 and they’re about to BEAT 1989 with this one.

Stop conceding your snow. They ain’t dueIMG_1174.png

South Carolina isn’t even a state, who cares if they are due.

Exactly 2022 they scored multiple times with those disgusting Positive tilted troughs. Them and NE NC/Norfolk VA area cant complain at all imo

I guess I’ll give it to the Mid Atlantic area, they aren’t getting the Nor’easter type storms they are use to historically, but they’ve had some good moments. Seems like it’s been a while for the Piedmont regions of the Carolinas though. I remember the great shaft of 2001. Calling for nearly a foot only to wake up and have nothing then turn to see Rocky Mount and the coastal plains nearly a foot

I don’t like this NAM. Looks like the snow is further north in Georgia. Not good. Horrible run. Probably little to no snow south of Columbus and Macon.

Relax. This run is likely over amped like the long range NAM likes to do….

I could be wrong….hopefully…

No more model watching. We all should know enough by now to forecast based on obs and observing the energy landing onshore.
I was thinking for this one I’d go into a cave and bring only the navgem with me. Issue forecasts with rock tablets and smoke signals
