Misc Cold Season Complaining

We have about 6 suites of model runs to get thru after today and the emotions will be running high as ever after every single op run. I urge everyone to remain calm and watch the ensembles. We took a big step forward with all of them today and we need to hope that continues, because we all know we will have plenty of good and bad op runs.

Yep the latest OP runs were like Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. There will probably be some very soon that look completely different (awful) relative to one's area. That will be like the day after Christmas when you have to go back to work (It sucks).

The usual ups and downs. Grateful I got off this roller coaster this past Friday. The lead up to this past storm, I don't want to talk about how unproductive I was. 7 years without "real" snow did a number on me. Not so much riding on this one. Everything is bonus from here!

Whatever happens, I at least hope any threat favors those who continue to suffer the insanity of being snowless. Sure, I'll be disappointed, but that's way better than hopeless devastation. Routing for y'all SC and NC folks especially!

Will say this -- if someone came to me and asked me to draw up what I'd want models to look like 200 hours away from a historic southern snow, this is *exactly* how I would draw it up.

This could be the biggest southern snow event in a loonnnggg time (10+ years, maybe more).

I'm 100% on board at this point.. though we are still 7 days away, so still lots of uncertainty.. but as of right now, looking good in my eyes.
I like the way the corn is bouncing, right now!

D@mn, now I'm gonna have to go home and stay on my computer half the night drooling at models.

This looks like a carbon copy of 2/12/14 as many have stated. The ice didn’t verify nearly as bad as the models indicated for that storm. It was bad in some areas but not nearly as widespread as modeled.
Personally, I do NOT want a repeat of Feb 2014. We were supposed to get a big dog snow, forcast had increased to 8-14 inches by local forecasters and models were showing even more. Instead we barely got 3 inches of total slop and areas just to me East had less than an inch. One of the all time busts and heartbreaks here. Darn warmnose was unstoppable. I'll pass on another one of those. Hopefully this possible storm would be cold enough for snow.

Euro starting to amp already. Starting tonight...
