There is a small chance that most of NC and northern SC stay dry with this. The I-85 corridor in SC and the Charlotte area may just get shut out if this trend continues.

Props to the EURO for picking up on the lack of QPF east of the Apps. Snow has been difficult to come by out this way for a while
If you get 2.2" of snow by 10am, it probably won't go above freezing the rest of the day. Models are terrible at adjusting for radiative cooling!
It’s a pretty app. And that’s it. Terrible data source.
And don’t get me started on “the radar”. It’s as useless as t**s on a boar hog.
But let’s rant anyway. Some design centric fool decided it’s cute to put big old circles/dots on top of a “radar”. You know, hiding the very thing you might be trying to look at.
And that ridiculous color palette! It was terrible back when dark sky did it. I can’t believe it still lives on.
Of course I don’t actually use that garbage. I only notice cuz I’m an iOS developer and cut my teeth on making a radar app back in the golden age of indie app development.

Atlanta hasn’t measured 3 inches of snow since 2011.
Well we wanted less amped and we're getting less amped, more like a strung out mess with minimum qpf east of the Apps. Advisory nuisance event, guess I should be happy with that

Can’t wait to be six hours away and have some posters still watching the GFS as if that matters at that point

Yeah I just don't trust the GFS at all. The trends are nice for me, but I remain extremely skeptical of this set up.

Word of caution I wouldn’t wish away this lower qpf/colder look 60 hours before the storm gets here. Keep it south. If not, the 1300m rain bomb remains in play
I'm new to models. I understand some basics but am unsure how as you were saying, they're bad at radiative cooling predictions, what else are they generally good and bad at and why? I'm fine with short answers if that's all you got in ya. Just want some pointers if nothing else

The UK is trending much drier. We are going to end up with a sunny day on Friday before this is over. Let's just bring on the 80's and storms and get this stupid winter over with.

I’m pulling for this thing to amp up and pull more QPF to the Tennessee valley. I will take my chances with temps and mixing.

I'm not buying this drying out BS. The Ukies can put that back in the box and close it up.
