Misc Cold Season Complaining

Hey mods can we take down any posts with maps that include sleet into the snowfall algorithm like the ones posted on Tropical Tidbits. I can’t stand it every single time. It’s blatant misinformation and we have new members that will believe that ----.

It’s a double edge sword tho. You take people out of the game then site traffic goes down. Tell everyone in Atlanta they are more likely to see 1” vs those maps then less excitement
 
They come to me and they say they say sir we’ve never seen a weather model as good as the icon it’s true that’s what they tell me and they say we need this model to run every 10 minutes. So I said yes let’s do it and they got on it and it’s amazing it’s the best one anyone’s ever seen

Yeah I keep making these psa post about those maps but it gets ignored. It's insane to me that after all these years some still wish to post those without context

It’s been a while. I get my dates mixed up but one of those early 2000’s ice storms was supposed to be snow south of 85 until right before the storm moved in. One of my more memorable storms. I can still hear the sound of trees snapping and remember power being out for well over a week. Haven’t seen anything close to it since.

You may be thinking of Dec 2002 when we had a major icestorm. We lost power here for 2.5 days with it.

Hated the trends today and last night regarding precip. Pretty bummed. Basically everything backed off it seems. Brad P forecast looks spot on as this may be a winter weather advisory only event.

I’ll take what I can get though.

It’s a double edge sword. More precip more sleet and ZR and cold rain. Less precip more snow. Troutman in a good spot it never was gonna be a perfect storm but for that area it’s more safe to say the ground gonna be white there
