Pattern August Rush

Looks like the storm is moving NE. I might get in on the action if it holds together.
 
Well, missed that storm. But we're under a marginal threat for severe strorms.

Nice one right there, thankfully gonna miss me just to the south but it has tons of lightning, hail and high wind

Need to get some mice weather here for the start of football season.
 
Definitely can feel the humidity back in the air today! And it sucks, hopefully, it’ll lead to rain this Fri-Sunday, but probably not!

Wouldn't be surprised to see a storm sneak into your back yard late this afternoon or get very close.... nothing much today but CAPE is getting on up there in the E/SE sections and PWAT still not too shabby, nice cumulus field developing just to your south along an old boundary..... not sure it will make any progress north or not

Luckily, the Atlantic is a pretty hostile environment right now, guess we may have to look for a home brewing system off the Carolinas or in the gulf into September

Picked up .97” yesterday in about half an hour and just picked up .54” in about 20 minutes lol. Ugh. This has been the summer of rain for sure!

I really don't get the scale for severe storm chances. Seems you could combine marginal and slight, and the same with enhanced and moderate. Just have slight, moderate, and high.
 
Got a special weather statement about a line of strong storms headed this way.

Well they (SPC) changed it after 2011, due in part to the fact that so many people did not take "slight" as any type of threat.. So now with five "levels" it does tend to work better IMO.

I think it makes it worse when slight and marginal sound the same, as well as enhanced and moderate. It is more confusing to most.
