One of my baby rescue dogs was a bit over zealous to greet me this evening. ?

BTW… Notice my blasted forearms. ???

This is really the start of about a six to eight week stretch of the worst weather of the entire year IMO. The heat and humidity over this coming time just wears and grinds one into a true fatigue and yearning for fall. It can really start to wear one down as it always seems to drag on and on. And the bugs are unrelenting, just to add insult. Time to hunker down and endure until better climo emerges!
Even worse when you work a very physical, outdoor job.. ugh.

Not quite the same, but also a grind when you have a toddler who's indifferent to the heat and just wants to be outside. And of course it's never in the backyard where there's plenty of shade ?.

I'm enjoying summer thoroughly, savoring the warm breezes (luckily my house's got good cross-ventilation)...unfortunately, in a few weeks' time, average temps will take on a downward trend. June and July are my favorite months of the year weather-wise, I gotta add.

It's really astonishing to see the storms form and move over the same areas and dissipate over the same areas. I came out of the gym a few minutes ago and saw lightning to the north and knew exactly what the radar would look like when I opened it. It was exactly as I pictured it. Storms in the same spots, moving in the same fashion as I foresaw.
Drought begets drought

For the lulz, here's the CFS this upcoming winter:

Fozzy, the band, sucks balls! That is all

Not exactly sure where to put this, as it’s not “banter”, but not weather related, so I’ll put it here. I know a lot of you live in N. Carolina, so thought I’d share. The son of a local acquaintance of mine here in Atlanta is missing, he was last seen around Asheville. He is around the age of my four older sons, so it hits my heart pretty hard. Here is a news story about it, I can send more info if anyone requests. Thanks for taking a look!

That look! When it’s finally harvest time! ?B077B560-CF33-4F59-9BFB-5B19B20D331F.png

I went down an interesting rabbit hole for some of this Sunday afternoon:

I wasn't aware of this town until today, but I discovered it when I found out that US-301 used to be a significant route near the coast until I-95 was built, and you can see some relics of the past on this route from when US-301 was the route to use.

So this is an apocalypse thread now :D I was wondering what you meant there. But yeah, you can technically survive in the heat with little energy, but man, that would be hard to go back to. We had no AC growing up. You get used to it, but it aint the best.

I had AC growing up, one of us is older than the other, settled science.....

Nah you were just richer !
I endure the "old" jokes, I hate the "you were rich" crap tbh..... I grew up on a farm, parents worked their butts off to provide and us kids did as well. I wouldn't change it for anything in the world

I don't know if it's just my perception, but I feel like by mid August the evening breeze just dies and we get into those Dog days of stagnant humid air and no breeze. That's when i'm done.
Agree, August just sucks. Only good thing is the last week when you start squinting at LR model output that shows potential tropical systems or the first Fall air that might try to make it's way into N. North Dakota.

You'd have to look past the September death ridge to peak at the first fall front.
