Speaking of blizzards maybe someone on here that’s in the CLT area can help me out. My Dad passed away the day after Thanksgiving and we’ve been going through some old pictures at my parent’s house and found a lot from the 1989 Carolina Coastal Christmas Blizzard. My Dad and Uncle were building contractors and they were working on repairing condos at Myrtle Beach that winter that had been damaged during Hugo. The manager of the condos they were working on at the time allowed the workers to bring their families down at stay free at the restored rooms free of charge… this was pretty normal that year as it allowed work to continue around the holidays which would help them be able to reopen. Anyway we got a ton of pictures from that storm, both during and after. Does anyone know where in the CLT area I could take some of them to get put into a digital drive. I’d love to share some of the pictures on here. I’m sure a lot of posters would get a kick out of seeing how deep the snow was on the Grand Strand on the height of some of the drifts.
Sorry for your loss

Bruh troughs last like 2 days in the east lol

He's annoying because he never says what we want to hear. But I've learned never to doubt that man. He said last week the teleconnections do not mean what they used to. I'm sure that only applies to cold though. If every teleconnection says it should be warm you can bet it'll be warm.

This is true. It’s aggravating to hear when we want snow. Brad and Greg Fishel are good friends and we all know in the Triangle area how much Fishel loved snow but he, too, would tell it like it is. Someone posted here a couple of days ago about a January 2017 event that had predictions of 5-10 inches of snow right up to the event. Greg Fishel comes on about 3 hours before it hits and mentioned that there was a warm layer of air getting into the mid levels that would make most of the precip sleet instead of snow therefore cutting snow totals way down. (I don’t know about y’all but hearing, “Warm air moving into the mid layers”, or “Dry air aloft” were the two worst statements to be made during a winter event around here.) If you were just south and east of Durham for that storm you got sleet. It was aggravating to hear but the truth, however, by that time the 5-10 inches of snow hype was already out there and many were surprised and or disappointed that they didn’t have any snow on the ground.

Look at this fantasy land EPO blowtorch the GFS just puked out. If this map actually verified in some sort of alternate universe, eventually there wouldn’t be an orange tree left in Florida or a pair of pants left in Raleigh. Who designed this thing?6C8201FC-7E13-4938-A6CA-287D45E93D08.png
