It's often hard for a Colorado Low to produce heavy snow in NC. Need a gulf low ideally.

Nope, GFS going balls deep on the cold shot!
The new hockey stick pattern ! Giving the shaft to the warm pattern! And severe weenies 5C6CAD18-C76F-4BB8-B01B-4A0B3D3D24AF.png

Just can't seem to push that ridge down and out far enough on the 24th. Get's yucky for NC.

How do y’all get these pretty maps? Is it a pay site? Does it work well on mobile? DFEE2A04-4E09-4B51-8F67-7BAB95DC47EF.png

And yet here is the Op at 216. Rain and seasonably cool for NC. By the time 384 rolls around its warmed up and we missed out.

It seems to me the high is way too far west to ever get cold in here.
You new here? Or just a new troll? Snowniner your cousin Eddie?

Former.
Pattern still looks good for the second half of December. May be able to sneak something around the 18th as well. Looks suppressed right now but that’s a decent look at this range.

On another note, are weenies seriously already overloading the site?? Or is my internet just messing up?

Could you guys explain to me the difference here?

The (.5 & .2)

It’s has to do with coordinate grid size. So when You format the longitude and latitude coordinates lon (0, 360), lat (-180,180), 0.5 degrees has a 0.5 difference between each value (1.5, 2, 2.5…). When there is a .20, each values has a .20 difference (1, 1.2, 1.4….). The smaller the number, there more data points, and the less there is to “guess” when plotting the maps. Therefore, there is a higher resolution.

Get your salt shaker out. It's an operation run. Wait until the 18z run and there may not even be precip in NC
