Misc 2021 Spring/Summer Whamby Thread

I think this Is a spring whamby thing. Just got home to find my two rescue pups (2 1/2 yrs old) and a medium size opossum in my kitchen. They immediately chased it into the laundry room. So, I locked the dogs behind a dog/baby gate in the hallway. At this point I took 20 minutes and a broom to get the young fella safely out the back door.

Coaxed it through a ”Rain pass through“ I had to make in the fence line Into the woods. Not sure if they brought him in or if he came in through the dog door. Oh, the joy of living in the country. Please forgive the dirty as i had to pull my drier forward. I will be cleaning behind/underneath my drier tomorrow for sure. ?

Man that hour 330 GFS sure scares me might need to cover up the plants and prepare for bugs to wiped out
 
Today's weather set-up in January-February would have been a snowstorm, I mean, ice storm (we probably would have gotten warm nosed)
 
I would say that the SPC might as well drop the slight even here, but despite it being in the upper 50s outside, there are southeast winds instead of northeast winds. Perhaps when it clears, it'll destabilize.

Its unfortunate that the Northeast seems to be the largest group moving to NC. That's literally my least favorite part of the country in terms of people that I've met. I try to keep an open mind, but I've had more problems with northeasterners than any other region of the country. I have a particularly strong dislike for people from New Jersey.

I don’t care about where people are moving from as much as I care about the unsustainable way we are housing them and the destruction of our environment .

Unfortunately , luckily meth, heroin and other drugs are popular among hippies so it placates them.

Hippies are a self limiting population, they initially attract lots of other people but then they hit an inflection point where they then do the opposite ( see San Francisco and portland).

Property tax woes are only just beginning here . As growth slows communities will have no choice but to drastically raise property taxes to pay for all the debt they have and maintain services ( spoiler : it won’t be enough money) . Then the area goes into decline .
