Misc 2021-22 Fall/Winter Whamby Thread

Well we made it out about 2 hours ago thanks to Rainforest (southernwx member). He got me in touch with a gentleman that was able to pull us out, but that was not before we all shoveled from 8 AM this morning until 2 PM. We all are worn out, but will definitely come more prepared for the next snow.

We are on the road headed back to Alabama. Roads were still a mess around lake toxaway but no serious trouble. We did see many stranded vehicles.

*No animals were harmed during the tow out*

Not seeing much mention of the "WAR" today.. it's like a phase too soon might have led to it being more pronounced ???

I’m going to recruit all the snow wennies from up here in the pacific north west to join the party on second thought I’m hearing a lot of Seattle folks talking about the southeast taking some of the snow and the amazing pattern from them hmm ?

According to littlesteven, this storm is a dud! And he has to be right, because he’s said it 37 times today! That makes it so, yes??
 
Absolutely an absurd pattern we are in .. if you told anyone in early December we would have a period this long with so much potential for winter weather .. they would have spit on you and thrown rocks! Can’t think of another time like this in my lifetime! (Short lifetime)

February - March 2014 and much of the winter of 2009-2010 were similar.

Some people didn't punt like others in December even with the crappy pattern. If one thing has been consistent for the most part in the last 5-7 years and nina in general are the runs at massive pac ridging and enticing the PV into Noam. Sometimes it hits like this year, sometimes it's late and west like last year, sometimes the pv is too strong like 11/12 and you can't get it done. But long story short I thought people were crazy giving up before Christmas
 
I’m not going to lie I wish I was down back in the south right now… since Alabama lost the National championship you guys are finally getting the snow you deserve and having one of the best turnaround winter this year ever…

Yep absolutely agree that’s why I found it so funny in the December heatwave when the board was cliff diving and talking about cool shots and only a week or two period of winter potential … this board is like clock work every year with people punting early then realizing oh shoot we can actually score during peak climo cool and all of us who were saying that all along go forgotten in the weeds ???
 
The models trying to give everyone a storm this winter in this pattern
