Alright SD, I was happy for you last week but now I’ve got to do what I gotta do. I know you’re licking your chops right now.
Haha I'm not that enthusiastic over this one. I see the potential but time is dwindling. I'm sticking with a dusting to 2 here

okay, fair, but try to find one in the woods in North Durham.
Welllllll, actually you can find them growing wild and reproducing in large numbers in the woods in duke garden. Sabal minor to be specific , in the hundreds. I saw quite a bit that had hopped the fence as well outside the gardens boundaries. Though your point still stands. Now, how do you feel about people planting sugar maples? spruce? etc.

I'm always of the opinion that your landscaping should be what your area can support. These people with grass in Phoenix and Vegas, I mean wtf?

Bingo ! I agree you should only plant what can A survive in your area and B if not native won’t become super invasive and harm . Though technically by that criteria north Durham can support some palms ! modernweenie. As for grass in Phoenix and Vegas . Disgusting waste of precious resources .

My dad likes to toss all the seeds from sabal minor into the forests around his acreage east of Tallahassee. Perhaps I should try that up north of Chapel Hill where I have some forest land.
