I'm probably more worried about getting rain than getting no precip at all

I have zero concerns about getting rain from the coastal itself...we need a 50-70 mile west shift inside day 4. Any other winter, any other coastal that would be very doable.

I agree with your emphasis on the +PNA, a very important favorable index. However, there still will be a +PNA this weekend per GEFS. And this is a likely hit to some of the Carolinas.
