I guess humility is a thing of the past

Interesting take at this link about what is true humility:

“‘True humility is not thinking less of yourself; it is thinking of yourself less.’
– C.S. Lewis”

“Our desire to avoid being seen as proud or arrogant has overwhelmed our desire to speak our truths or follow our highest potentials. To avoid the blow to our egos of being seen as proud or arrogant, we sacrifice the most precious callings we have. Our ‘humility’ has, ironically, been turned to the purpose of protecting egos invested primarily in the opinions of other people.”

“In other words, our desire to avoid being seen as egotistical is a profoundly egotistical one.”

“If you want to live humbly, stop worrying about the perceptions of others and focus on what you can find to be independently true and valuable. Consider the wisdom of others but ignore their attempts to manage you through your own ego.”

“Ironically, your single-minded, unilateral choice to act at the risk of being disliked is often the most humble choice you can make.“

Now it seems the models are trending a bit warmer in NC by late next week than originally shown? As you’ve heard me say since I work outdoors depending on the day it has been nice on these warm days but seeing a March snow storm would be good too. If it’s a tough task in January I can only imagine March is even tougher.

This one is from Fab February 2015. This was freezing rain falling on top of 5 inches of sleet and snow from 2 systems earlier in the week. We legit had at least 1 or more inches of snow on the ground for 2 straight weeks. I’ve never had snow stay on the ground that long and probably won’t again for a very long time. What was more impressive was that it was late February when this happened. Marvelous March followed and dropped a 4 inch snow a few days after the snow from this one finally melted.

Like 3/1980 and some others, 2/1899 was pretty much a board wide event, where a good bit of Florida was involved. Like 3/1993, this included a blizzard in much of the SE (actually in more of the SE than 3/1993).

I decided to go back to October and tally up all the nights below 32,25,20,15 and 10 degrees for this winter. For today I only added up any 32 and below temps and I counted 77 total nights below freezing through this morning! Im not sure how many nights in a normal winter I go below freezing but I’m almost positive this is well above the normal.I’ll post the other temps tomorrow but just glancing I saw a bunch that were under 25 degrees. If anyone else cares to add up their 32 and under temps I’d love to see them.
