If the GFS isn't leading this and it does turn out that there is going to be an ice storm, I'd be soooo tempted to try to talk my way into leaving town for a bit and going to NW GA. The issue would be that I haven't driven in snow, lol.
Just not really that excited about experiencing an ice storm.

In my experience, it's not a good thing when the models look so good 4-5 days out. It can only go downhill from here.

Atleast your area(for now anyway) isn't facing a major ice storm . Most likely,Raleigh will ether have mainly snow/sleet or snow to rain as the low deeping inland of the coast, which may limit the ice total futher north. This isn't going to be a fun sunday or Monday if the Euro or the GFS is correct for my area.

Worst part is a lot of guys are sonexcites for this west shift until tomorrow when it hasn't stopped and their 12 inches of snow becomes a sleet and rain mess.

No way Atlanta gets over a foot and it mostly rains in Raleigh. Not happening.
