I don’t get it , I mean they are superior to us by a lot snow wise . Let’s just consider DC the bottom of the mid Atlantic for this argument .... they average 15.4 inches of snow a year .... that’s triple roughly what Raleigh/Nashville average let alone Atlanta or Columbia ! They are also some 8 degrees colder in winter than Raleigh, 10 or so degrees colder than Atlanta , 13 degrees colder than Columbia sc , hell they are some 4 degrees colder than Richmond even. This is using DC Reagan , if I use the less uhi Dulles they average 22 inches of snow , that’s almost 2 feet .As will we all. While we laugh at their pain like they do us. I hate the MA and their feigned superiority.
It’s all relative, though. I’m sure some of our Deep South posters scoff at us in NC complaining about only getting 2” last winter, or whatever, and think “WELL AT LEAST YOU GOT SOME SNOW!!”. They have higher expectations and higher expectations beget a higher minimum bar to clear.I don’t get it , I mean they are superior to us by a lot snow wise . Time to head back I think. Just say you forgot something. How many snows can OKC have in one run? LolView attachment 56792View attachment 56793View attachment 56794View attachment 56795
Last years 2.5 inches was on the heels of 2 back to back above average snowfall years at RDU.It’s all relative, though. Also, NYC didn’t even get 5” of snow last year, and it was one of the least snowy years on record there. Brutal.
Because they act like it doesn't snow there are all. Its annoying.I don’t get it , I mean they are superior to us by a lot snow wise . I agree , from the time I spent there lurking it’s horrible . They are weenies on steroids , they think 90 inches a year is their normal . To be fair to them , while no where near the level it I over there I have seen that kind of sentiment reflected here . While not 90 inches , a lot of people seem to think double digit are more normal lol. I think I’m pretty reasonable with my expectations , one nice 3-4 inch event then maybe a couple few dusting to an inch low level events . That’s pretty much the average .Because they act like it doesn't snow there are all. Its annoying.
Like I said yesterday pain is coming watching what happens up in the Mid Atlantic. All we can do is hope it holds long enough for us. Those weenies up there get under my skin so bad I sometimes I wish the SER was here so they'd fail too.
I'm moving to that region in late January/early February, so I'm sure that means it'll dump snow on the Carolinas right after I'm goneLike I said yesterday pain is coming watching what happens up in the Mid Atlantic. Well, I lived in Florida the prior two winters, so it was all about last winter for me, haha!Last years 2.5 inches was on the heels of 2 back to back above average snowfall years at RDU.
I wish my profile pic would display as the gif it is because...it appliesRidge = fail
Active stormy pattern = fail
Cold in place = fail
I can say after living in Kansas for two years, their snow isn't as fun as ours. At least when I was there it was more like packing peanuts. It just blew and was very dry. I like our wet snows on the east coast better. How many snows can OKC have in one run? LolView attachment 56792View attachment 56793View attachment 56794View attachment 56795
May the snow weenie gods be with you ! I promise you 110% chance you will get a much nicer season than last year guaranteed sometime the next 3 years . The stats pretty much make it very likely .Well, I lived in Florida the prior two winters, so it was all about last winter for me, haha!
Yep. I'd be happy just to get a good storm every year and get average snow. But believe it or not double digit years used to be fairly common in GSP and CLT. And probably RDU even though I haven't looked. But those days are gone.I agree , from the time I spent there lurking it’s horrible . Lol I just stay off their board and don't look at radar when they're cashing in.You must be in pain quite often lol.
Yeah they used to be more common 1960-1990 but y’all are using that as if it was the baseline normal , using an even longer time frame shows that the 1960s-1990s were highly anomalous , go back further and things were warmer just like today . It’s not like we were always that snowy and cold then boom global warming came and changed that.... no we had a very cold period for 30 years relative to the previous 90 that was then followed by the milder period of today.Yep. Have we had a event yet under 7 days yet?Is it me or has every event has just trended to crap as we’ve gotten closer to it so far
