That caught me off guard seeing that. Quite a shift back in favor of wintry precipitation on it. Although I don’t think that is actually snow, but rather freezing rain. UK still has mid levels quite a bit above freezing at least around OKC. Gonna be more ice then snow in that situation.UKMET 0z loves some Oklahoma![]()
Any recommendations in Oklahoma to go and see snow?? I'll probably go to bartlesville
Mostly ice in Central OK ?GFS strikes again!View attachment 50877
Im honestly not too fond of ice. It looks pretty but it causes so many problems.Yes, but anywhere near these amounts would not be good.View attachment 50878
Yeah, I’m hopeful that perhaps they could be a brief window of at least a little snow, but it looks like mostly ice right now maybe some sleet too. The only nice thing about ice is that it makes the trees look pretty cool. Of course it also destroys them too, but frozen trees are nice to look at.Im honestly not too fond of ice. It also causes power outages. UKIE pushing the fake snow (mostly ice) even further in Oklahoma. At this point I wouldn’t be surprised to see the euro move in this direction. It seems to be the lone holdout.GFS strikes again!View attachment 50877
The last couple of runs has central/east Oklahoma in the bullseye. This 12z gfs run has little more snow mixed in.GFS strikes again!View attachment 50877

I would go further west. Could be more of an ice situation in Bartlesville. Woodward would be a better place.Ok, I'll be in bartlesville Oklahoma.
I heard I am supposed to appreciate this pleasant dry weather. It's hot
Fake newsI heard I am supposed to appreciate this pleasant dry weather.
Maybe in the Arctic in January. This pattern stinks, next Tuesday through Thursday are going to stink. Remember how much you hated the cool in May and June? This is the equivalent for me.You should , come on @SD I know your mama taught you better! It rhymes in Arabic but we say “ warmth is a blessing “.
BoomI'd honestly rather have May snow than May heat, snow beats heat 100% of the time for me regardless of the date.
Told ya 2007 repeatThat “heavy precipitation” slot from the WPC intrigues me. Starting to get real interesting.View attachment 50923
If this is right accu might wanna consider going north to MO.By the way the 18z GFS was not far from having some snow around OKC. Upper level temperatures came in a bit cooler. Below freezing 850 mb layer stalls right around OKC.View attachment 50926View attachment 50924
Lol, I'll be in bartlesville which is far north Oklahoma. 18 miles from Kansas state lineIf this is right accu might wanna consider going north to MO.
Any particular reason why Bartlesville ?Lol, I'll be in bartlesville which is far north Oklahoma. 18 miles from Kansas state line

Keep in mind this is October not December. Very rare to have these type of events this early this far south.
Agreed. I just had to turn my ac back on so I can sleep. I should have the windows open with blankets on. Going to Beech Mtn this weekend and it's not even cold there. This stinks out loud!Maybe in the Arctic in January. This pattern stinks, next Tuesday through Thursday are going to stink. Remember how much you hated the cool in May and June?
