Misc 2019 Banter & Friendly Conservation

Another dud incoming....for my areaView attachment 19121
I don't really get why everyone has their own custom threat scale. And I don't see a lot of value in 4 or 5 (or more) different categories. It's all entirely subjective in the first place. Three subjective categories create enough confusion and room for discussion. We certainly don't need any more. Isolated, Marginal, General, Slight, Mild, Enhanced, Medium, Elevated, Moderate, Strong, Very Strong, High, Super High, Super Duper High, Extreme, Ultimo, Hypergalactic, Biblical, Armageddon, Total Annihilation End Of Life As We Know It.

It is silly

It is silly, especially when the definitions of slight and enhanced are similar, as well as elevated and moderate. Just have slight, moderate, and high. I just go ahead and look at it as three categories anyway.

In my opinion I look at enhanced risk sometimes as a area of uncertainty, for example a day that argues for strong tornadoes but argues against it, basically middle ground, same thing for marginal, it also adds to how widespread convection may be, marginal risk is good for days in the summer where you get a cluster of storms that develop off the lee side of the mountains and have no shear, but produce scattered microbursts due to dry air entrainment, it’s a good category for those types of days

Vizcaino out for the season. Braves are in BIG trouble unless they shell out some coin and sign Kimbrel. Let’s get this deal done already!

We win that game last night if Dansby doesn’t get caught off 2nd base with NO OUTS in the 8th and AJ Minter comes in and pitches a decent inning

Braves basically need half of a new bullpen because of the bizarre choices made in the offseason. It's completely dire, to the point of which if you're actually serious about competing in 2019, you have to pull the plug on development of some starters for "now".

Josh Donaldson was a complete waste of money and solved neither short term nor long term team needs. He’s a complete flop and for the most part the fan base doesn’t even care for him. He’s not selling jerseys and he’s not scoring runs. Complete waste of money. It won’t surprise me if this season goes into the tank prior to the Allstar break and they chalk one up to “this is a building year. We just signed Ronnie and Ozzie to long term extensions. We’re in this for the long haul.” It’s a complete waste of a SOLID offensive lineup with PLENTY of help coming off the bench..Rant over

The Braves never seem to be concerned about now. They are always worried about the future. Theyve been rebuilding for like 5 years now so we should be at the point where they are starting to compete for championships.

April 18th is way too early to declare the Donaldson signing a total bust, even if I wonder if this is what he is now because the line looks similar to the overall deal of 2018 (and if it is, it was so not worth it to gamble on his bounce back). Sadly I have to agree with the casual fans now that are po'd about the team choosing him other than improvements because I admitted elsewhere that I was wrong and honestly very stupid about the bullpen. The bizarre dealings of trusting a 36 year old to be able to be healthy and building the bullpen around sore armed guys (they even considered non tendering Vizcaino so they KNEW about the shoulder), right now looks like a complete, MASSIVE bust. It's completely bizarre.

I guess they thought they'd gain value (we're seeking value!!) from risking that but it blew into smithereens and now that situation is non-correctable right now. Kimbrel would not be the savior of that pen right now.
