Misc 2019 Banter & Friendly Conservation

So I'm considering purchasing a weather station, and as of right now, I like AcuRite ATLAS. Any tips/suggestions? I'd like to keep this south of $250, and I'm aware that the best are WAY more expensive

I have an Acurite 5-in-1 that has been great to me. I've had this one for a year, replacing an older 5-in-1. I upgraded the three year old previous one to get a better aspiration fan solar panel setup, and the newer model also supports replaceable sensor parts to a degree. I connect my ground station to a RaspberryPi running WeeWX. WeeWX sends data to my personal weather webpage, Weather Underground, CWOS, and another site as well.

There’s fixed vs effective
Effective Layer uses multiple ingredients, uses effective bulk wind difference or EBWD for short, effective storm-relative helicity or ESRH for short, 100mb mean parcel COnvective available potential energy or mlCAPE), 100mb mean parcel Convective inhibitation, mlCIN) also 100mb mean parcel Lifted condensation level height, mlLCL for short

Fixed Layer uses A bit different ingredients, includes 0-6 km bulk wind difference, or 6BWD for short, 0-1 km storm-relative helicity, SRH1), surface based Convective available potential energy, sbCAPE), surface parcel Convective inhibitation, sbCIN), and surface parcel Lifted condensation level height, sbLCL) it’s a little different from the effective, lol

I'm really wondering if we should stay put in La Fayette, GA through Sunday, because driving on the interstate through a good portion of the state seems to be asking for driving yourself into a mess with a potential severe outbreak. I've mainly been looking at the times where we're going to be on the road driving which is 15z-21z.

Or maybe we should push for ASAP on leaving Sunday, as that's also a choice with this thing stalling some and try to outrun the bad weather home. I hate getting up early though lmaooo.

3 bass 1 brim

smallmouth or large? sunfish or bluegill? size?

down this aways, large mouth and copperhead bream are the standard ...

bass looking to start bedding real soon, btw ... :p

Edit: my favorites are warmouth ... on a 4lb test & fly rod, those suckers are as much fun as a 10 lb bass on a spinning rod ...

So I'm genuinely terrified for tomorrow and Sunday, I sincerely hope anyone in Louisiana stays safe.

Fun fact of the day: Indiana has hills/mountains ! I know Indiana has a reputation for being flat and boring, and for much of the state thats true. But believe it or not, some areas of the state are quite beautiful.
