Not this winter but I did get thunder today as I’m sure you did also. it’s the 27th today so let’s keep track and see if we get snow in the next 7-10. Doesn’t have to be accumulating and can be flurries only.

If I had to give this winter a grade at this point and time. I would give it a C-.. so far it has been full of disappointment. Hopefully that will change.

Strangely I would give it an A- for having 1 potential at least exist despite nothing occurring. Storms don't normally occur in early December and for one to happen 2 years in a row for some is exciting to watch even if I was close to being a part of it. Sure all this rain is miserable but compared to other years that we were in the 70s this isn't that bad.

I will say it’s been awhile since I have seen every OP and ENS runs struggle and flop around so much.
Seems we spend more time tracking pattern changes then actual winter threats....
It kind of is just wait and see once the MJO reaches 7. On the large scale, I think that is definitely driving the pattern and as Webb and others have pointed out, the models are struggling mightily with that (the MJO) , so if they can't accurately model the driver of the pattern, they ain't going to handle the pattern progression correctly.

Love snow as much as the next person, but you will not (I repeat WILL NOT) see me complain if January is completely dry. So tired of rain in N GA and so is my basement.

We don’t need the PV split for snow, I’m not even going to keep track of it anymore. It never helps so why worry about it. I’ll focus on NAO and MJO and mojo and luck.

I think it comes down to expectations. People expect it to snow every year. Honestly social media has fed that more than anything. I like to see everyone’s opinions as it makes this board better but damn there are some interesting posts. Lol

I think we forget how low the avg snow fall totals are some of our areas. ATL avg is a little over 1in. So I couldn’t complain so much.
