I think it’s because according to all the indices a week or two ago, we were preparing for glory with the holy trinity of -NAO, +PNA, -AO and December was looking cold and we were all giddy! Now December is looking torchy for the most part!

But things can change and will

From every place I has seen/ read about this winter it looks like 2nd half of December to Jan will be warm ( thaw) and gradually get colder from January to March, February and March look like it’s a can’t miss.... to me it looks like everything is playing out correctly, has anything happened that wasn’t supposed to happen yet? I’m very optimistic about this winter, backloaded as always but will higher chances of snow and cold. I will take it to the bank every winter. My only concern is the thaw lasting longer then forecast.

- I’m not as smart as Web and others here but 33 years in the SE has tough me a lot about how winters evolve down here.

Hopefully we see the blocking pattern emerge again by January since that will be prime time anyway. Always better to score something before February if possible since the chances of it sticking around a while are much better.

I was wondering what it was like over there. It would be great to have more folks here. The problem there wasn't so much the posters, except for one that was able to get away with trolling and being a bully. The problem was a couple of mods in the SE forum.

Funny thing about dgex it did actually get close quite a few times on the areas that was going to get the snow.
Why was the dgex discontinue ??? Anyone knows ????
