Misc 2017 Banter/venting thread

Yeah it's already surpassed the predicted high here and if it doesn't cloud up real fast there's a serious chance at hitting 50 at the NWS station (clouds are close by though). Nice start to the cold snap...but I do realize there's plenty of time for it to really get cold due to how long this is.

I swear some days I feel like the models are pennywise and I'm georgie...it always snows down here

If these trends continue then only a small part of central and northeast GA and all of upstate SC will be snowless after this week.

Just think it's only fair everyone is treated equally. Same forum rules should apply to everyone. Not just enforced on new members. Banter is banter
What are you even talking about? You and a handful of others seem to have this disposition when it comes to your posting and its mind boggling.

Must be more than a rare disposition if more than one member has it. It's easy to see who's posts get deleted and whose are welcome. When you have banter in the main thread and an admin replies back instead of deleting, then you know the rules don't apply to everyone. Not trying to be an ass, just trying to speak up for the disenfranchised

Thanks,
Jimmy

This board has become popular because it's not like that at all. There's another place where you can post that's ruled by a clique and mods who break the same rules they enforce on others.

I had an old account on here but I forgot the username and password. This winter season I created a new account and I was treated differently. Idk why but I certainly wouldn't make something like that up. I'm just here to have fun and talk about the weather. It's supposed to be fun. What I don't understand is why can't someone make a good comment about the forum topic and add some of their personality to it without getting flagged for banter? We aren't robots

LOL this guy.

I think talking about the weather and having fun is a great ideal, let's start:rolleyes:

I'm not going to delete this post because I like you, however, if someone else says the same I WILL DELETE

Really chomping at the bit to jump in and say some stuff about December 1989, the current set-up, where we may be headed, but dagumit, I work and every time I come up for air and have a cogent thought to pass along, about 5 others of you have essentially touched on it in some fashion.
Please keep up the good work and providing info! ;)
Best to All!

I’m sitting at 22 degrees as of 1:45pm on what is forecast to be the first of 7 straight days of below freezing temps. If this Verifies I believe it would be one of the top 5 longest periods of below freezing temps in the area. As of now Wednesday is the only day that would come close to possibly ending the streak early. On Wednesday the gfs has me at 29 degrees around midday but I’m pretty confident I won’t get above freezing as I’ve been coming in a little colder than what the temps were forecasted to be lately.

Things can happen but yeah being up that way, y'all always got a threat of some snow showers even into March.
Says a flattened out version of climo that is literally the average. I don't care about climo unless it's relevant, and snow in March is only in specific setups. This year's setup favors the end of a chance of flakes by mid February at latest.

I still think there is a shot board wide for all of us. Now after middle of Feb. my shot is pretty much gone. It is still fun reading all the comments for the other areas of the board that have the opp. thur March:cool:

This storm is driving everyone crazy. I don't care what happens, just get to January 5th and let's be done with this. One minute someone says something and the next second we think it will snow everywhere.
That one guy is wrong almost for sure. This thing is NOT going to hit Atlanta, but I'm hoping it might get as far west as I am. Realistically though, CAE is about as far back as it'll get. Possibly back to GSO in NC but not Charlotte.

I'd love for you to be wrong lol

Me too, but I don't think I am. The biggest question now is if this turns out like the 1989-90 winter when we did a complete flip following a big eastern Carolinas snow. I'd love to see that if we are not getting snow. A repeat of February and March of 1990 would be nice.

I think that it's entire possible that this system trends to the point of where Charlotte is in play, but I think that the probabilities significantly lessen the further east you go from that point. In Georgia, I could see this ultimately being a system of where snow falls south and east of a line stretching from Americus to Forsyth.

It's not going to make it to CAE, Jonesville, or GSP

New Years Resolution For Shawn:

Will refrain from this website when it needs to be treated like a daycare.

What in the Hell is going on here. I am about to change the minimum age to make an account here to 40. That probably isn't even gonna fix it.
