If your in NC you want the Canadian Op and the Ukmet to win the trophy, Great strip of 4+ throughout. Honestly be hard to pick one over the other. They where beauts last night.
The latest 3kNam dumps/Jackpots eastern Guilford County at 5.5 -6 Snow. Ive noticed on like 3 -4 diff models there is a 5+ strip/ very small an narrow lollipop, popping up from Guilford County on a NE trajectory to the first tier of counties in VA. Caswell, Persons County in NC.
Metwannabe was right RDPS move the finger band across NC south a good bit. Even the Nam has come south from its ridiculous shenanigans yesterday. But still on its own compared to everything else with the footprints its painting.
Best run I found for the upstate crowd is this one
The wrf brothers and Sref all run with the Nam. Same Familia. painting same pic on accum maps

Rgem holds tough with the wedge has all sleet and ice damn near to the coast for the entire event....

I got feeling ATL won't change to Freezing Rain. Probably sleet is the story for ATL for the changeover.

Let’s hope that holds because this looks ugly locally. Not to mention the rain line being depicted edging into Mecklenburg County.
The wedge is strong, can you imagine if we had a high funneling in fresh supply of cold/dry air. Geez what could've been

Yep but I can't enjoy it man knowing the freezing rain potential coming I hate freezing rain. It scares me...praying for more sleet man...any new updates as far as short model forecast?

After a few sleet and flakes at 4am we now have officially begun to snow Banks County near Commerce and Homer!

As of last night, no model had Augusta getting precip until around 11am. The sleet started here around 7am. Not sure how that will translate to other areas but there is definitely a band of precip down the I-20 corridor that is overperforming.

Was coming here to post the same thing from my house. Channel 2 has a reporter at Exit 14 (Ga. 400) and it’s starting to come down good there.

Bonus for you for the actual snow line to get that far south. I used to live down there off the Eagles Landing exit.

Switching back to sleet. Looks like we received about 1.5" so far. Nice surprise! 28.8 currently with a dewpoint of 27.0.

Atlanta proper has gotten blasted. I am closing in on 3 inches in Va Highland of Atl. North of 285, it's just a dusting.

One way to monitor the air above our head is its 14 at the 4000 foot level ( Base Beech mtn )

Fgen band being way south isn't great for us around here. Congrats to those scoring with it this morning though. Those things are always a good way to get the goods
I escaped to a cabin close to Snowshoe last night, but set up a camera at my house, looks like around an inch to me so far.
