Nothing for a while hereAnyone in north Alabama have anything falling now? Seems we’ve been in a lull here in Paulding county for quite awhile. I know snow is pretty much done but is there freezing rain and sleet coming?
what does this mean?
Pretty sure this matches what every model showed?
Don’t forget 10 hours ago some MS/AL/GA posters were melting down about sleet and temps and a lot of them got hammered.
it's called setting expectationsAbsolutely correct. I still don’t understand the cliff diving. The radar is really beginning to fill in and looks juiced. We should have reports of snow/sleet in the Metro by 2. Right on par with models.
This has a good 12-13 hours to go...
It shows the temperature aloft at 850mb, you want to be north of the 0 line.what does this mean?
Your obs are definitely supporting my thought for even up here at RDU that this is going to be rate driven for a good chunk before WAA overwhelms. A little sleet mixed in will only help solidify what you get hopefully!back to all heavy snow. Whew that was close
I think it's just plain rain, at least where I am. Temp up to 33.Freezing rain is now replacing the snow here in Huntsville
HRRR slowly giving it up with those crazy warm surface temps this afternoon.View attachment 162448
It's basically just initializing lower lol. It still stubbornly wants to raise temps rapidly this afternoon. Going to be hard to do with thicker clouds and virga falling into the column.
Rain coming down now. Went up to 32 , now 30 . Water dripping off roof . but freezing on shrubs and trees . One inch icicle on rose bush. I had a little over an inch of snow followed by sleet and now rain. I am in Woodstock /Holly Spring border.
