Wintry 1/7/17-1/10/17 Winter Storm

Here is 12Z ukmet. Not as amped/strong as GFS is. Looks more in line with 0z euro/12z CMC from what I can tell with the  24hr panels.

This run is scary for me down here..going to be an epic ZR fest...maybe some snow/sleet early...then to rain and then back to snow...Although, GFS never really gets me above 35...after being below freezing..
Very scary run for us Chris!

Yea needs to come back south. I want no part of ice. Sleet sure but not ice. Onto the Euro.....

I'd love for this to come a bit more south, but we're in the game, per se'.  That's all you can ask for at this moment.  I believe a lot of that could be sleet for our area, too.  Someone correct me, if I'm wrong.  I live in the upper northwest area of Richland County, so I typically get a tad bit more snow versus other areas of Richland County.

I know a fella up there that lives by the lake.  His Daddy owns a concrete pouring operation up there.  Nice spot, friendly folks.

The low wouldn't be that far south, the GFS has the right track of low. The low, and those highs are working together, keeping it from cutting or going that far south. If it wasn't for that high to the NW of low, this thing would have cut.

Two straight great runs by the GFS. Still really reminds me of February 2014.

We still have a long way to go though.

It's good the ukmet is showing the low that far south. Gives us some cushion for any north trend.

My area is forecasting 1-3 in snow, and 30 min north of me is 3-5 Inc possible

I like the CMC. Keep the snow south for now!! gFS is obviously not gonna happen but a big storm is definitely looking possible

It's good to have some Forsyth County/Cumming posters here. I've got the NW part covered. I'm trying not to get too excited just yet.

Same here, seems too close for us, but I think that Sawnee mountain north, per the 12Z, would be all snow and sleet. About 6" of snow, and probably 2"-4" of sleet. Hope it doesn't turn into 2014 all over again.

Looks like freezing rain in Atlanta. Not sleet. The DGZ is dry.

You mean just ZR? That would be horrific and people would die.  I want no part of that.

Starts as snow, ends as snow.. But the main juice looks to be ZR at KFTY. In fact, like .953" of liquid accumulation at KFTY, downtown Atlanta. And i'm thinking it'll be all freezing rain for some time if that DGZ is dry.

Sounds more than amazing to me. Honestly, anything that completely covers everything (only takes about an inch) is good enough for me, so 6" snow and 2-4" sleet is just mind blowing.

Yeah I'm waiting on the euro before getting too excited. I think there are a few folks in here in the Forsyth county area. I'm glad I moved here from Alpharetta a few years ago.
