We will get there but this dry slot has been brutal
It’s been a good storm. It’s over here aside from a few flurries or scattered snow showers, ended up with 6 inches. Very thankful.
Been fun tracking, I appreciate all you guys and gals and especially a shout out to all the Mets for all that you do. It’s been a real joy.
And congratulations to all that got accumulating snow and I hope where the dry slot was in the Raleigh area fills in and they get accumulating snow. That would pretty much be a statewide Snowstorm!!!

I remember having to wait FOREVER for the Christmas storm in 2010 in Raleigh and that one turned out great. Doubt this rises to that level but fingers crossed yall get NAM’d tonight.

still got heavy snow coming down 7 miles NW of PTI. 8-9.5” measurements all over the yard. Really been hammering down last few hours. Think it helped we got that snow last night, and we got into the main band early and never got out. Hate folks to the east missed out so far, hope it’s still to come.Also how cool to see the official obs at KGSO 4 hours straight of heavy snow.

It did indeed snow and accumulate to a fine dusting here with temps in the low 20s all afternoon, for a few hours. Thankful to have dodged a much more impactful event by narrow margins, as several inches fell just one county over in Gwinnett. Glad y'all are enjoying it, and I'm enjoying the lack of it
Just came back in from a walk around the neighborhood with the wife. 7.8” now and still coming down at a good clip. It looks like the band that’s been over CLT is gonna pivot through here in a bit. Hopefully that will push me into double digits

Long way to go overnight. Seeing the convective bursts over the ocean tells me all I need to know. When that meso low works its way SE we gonna party like it’s January 2025.
7-8” is my guess in DT CLT. Beautiful. Hard to measure like others have said. It’s just blowing all around. Going to take another walk once it eases up.

Pretty sure this guy is entirely terrain influenced. I’d guess it’s coming off the Black Mtns but it doesn’t quiiiiiite line up. Still snowing
We in the middle of it now boys, and like that vis is down to a couple hundred feet. Reminds me of PAC NW rates, the heaviest I've seen since I lived here in Greenville, circa 06.

I think it is winding down here. We absolutely loved sledding. They wore the hill out. We finished around 7 inches or so. Just awesome.

I wish I could've demonstrated the band a bit better, but I honestly wasn't feeling so great today. I'll just describe the band here:
I noticed it darkened up and then it started really pouring snow and blowing sideways for about 25 minutes. I spent parts of that time laying on my back and watching snow blow off my neighbor's roof (and everywhere, I did some shooting of snow sticking to plants and probably should've done more as I'm not sure how much will still be there).
I'm going to be interested in the storm report total because in some ways, while the roads didn't give up, the eyeball test is as impressive as 1/22/25.

Ok the death band got pissed I insulted its longevity. Absolutely ripping fatties again.

Got another 1"-1.25" in the driveway since blowing it at 4pm. I think I'm less than an inch from foot status. I think the final band of snow working through the foothills now should do it.
