Dry slots and ice storms turn me on
3km NAM gives Raleigh <0.5" while the 12km gives Raleigh a foot. I can't ever remember seeing such a disparity between the two resolutions.

What's the point of the NAM? A short-range model that less than 24 hours before the event is swinging wildly, going from showing almost nothing to 6"+ for some folks, and going the other way for others. Not that the Euro isn't doing that, too, but this is literally the whole point of the NAM!
I often wonder if they're the same model. This is one of those times.
I do often find the 3km precip fields to be kind of weird / spotty.
If people really love snow and don’t work weekends, how hard is a 3 hour road trip?
