I know it's the GFS and all but wow, the potential with this pattern is exciting.

Models are still having a hard time figuring out the next week or so.

Realistically we might start seeing model agreement by the middle to later part of this week.

We might not get a storm sure, but the ceiling is pretty high with this overall setup so if everything lines up there could easily be snowfall.

When in doubt, zoom out. If we can keep moving this direction we can have a storm that really digs and bombs at the perfect time. I think to get the good ones, the really good ones, you have to walk this line

I think the euro whiffed on the 2nd storm bc it cut it off too far south. But whew…. Great look. Shift that puppy north a little and we cook. Still lots of options on the table for that one.

The sort of thing that shows you there is still much to figure out and quite a lot on the table. Even the AIFS is not consistent yet. Nobody wants to wait and see if later jan/feb can produce, so hopefully we can move this one in the right direction. You certainly have to like the potential around MLK more than late next week

I agree! Atleast it gives me some hope in south central Alabama. I always prefer to see the bulk of snow total south of my location because it always seems to trend northwest closer to the event.

This might be the weenie in me, but that still has the look of overrunning moisture into cold air ala Jan 25. This will change more than Dominos can put pizza out in an hour, but I like that look for the south. Decent cold air press.

GFS is over amped for east of apps, Euro is too far south. That’s a good place to be right now for piedmont and upstate
