Misc Space Weather

My understanding is that as wave of geomagnetic energy pulse and fluctuate, the lights can get brighter and more intense. Then fade and flare back up!

I can see a faint red glow to the north, but it's kind of nothing compared to May 2024 (for N AL).

Snow last night, and Auroras tonight! Talk about flexing the inner nerd! This was earlier, around 8:30pm in Randleman, NC.
I was thinking about that too a little while ago. Earliest flurries for many followed by northern lights the very next night is freaking wild. The odds of that happening have got to be astronomical. I hope it's a sign of an epic winter lol

Looks like it's incoming now. Bz just starting to head down. Let's see where it goes.

May not have a easy shot for G4 tonight but the Bz is getting more negative then positive in the last hour. It's not crazy negative so far like last night. Went from 26 GW to 75 GW in the past half hour. Hoping when the flux rope kicks in, it goes sharply negative like October of last year.

Some shots, missed the beat portion due to work, but it was another good one, there’s a chance this could be the last biggest one of the cycle, but also that small chance the region survives another carrington rotation, the region that proved the Oct flares last year actually went through 5 carrington rotations, so here’s to hoping IMG_0226.jpegIMG_0271.jpegIMG_0237.jpegIMG_0247.jpegIMG_0282.jpeg

You know you're not supposed to use the C word! 🤣

Anyone follow Stefan Burns on YouTube? He does an awesome job of tying in sun activity and how it affects earth. He has been blowing up on YT with his analysis of 3i Atlas and these other interstellar objects
