Misc Cold Season Complaining

My Thanksgiving turkey was free this year. I spent over $150.00 at BJ's Wholesale on some office supplies and dog food and will get a free turkey for doing that. The nice thing is that I won't have to cook it either, my stepdaughter and her husband are hosting Thanksgiving this year.

True but even that storm sucked because all week the models had showed us getting buried(3 days before there were mets saying 10 inches possible) and we barely managed an inch

And that was the only real snow we had. Two years in a row we haven't had a big storm and both years had a snow hole later in the winter we were 1 degree too warm
 
Not even a freeze on the TWC app through the end of the month

Our latest freeze ever is the 28th

That's gonna be shocking if we hit 33 in mid October and can't beat that before December. I don't buy it but so far the cold ain't verifying
 
Just to be fair, the CFS (today) does not show a good pattern during the next month for the southeast. Basically has a classic la nino look, where the cold stays west of the apps. It has RDU getting down to near freezing around day 14 (for a couple of days) and then warms it back up into at least mid-December. If it's right and we can keep RDU just above freezing, it could be near Christmas until the first freeze occurs. Crazy times we are in.
 
RDU will break/get to 32 by next sun night on backyard obs. The airport themometer is located in an oven over there, so cant go off of it. Nice punch of cold coming late week.
 
Forecast for tonight: Mostly Dark, some light by early tomorrow around 6:00 AM.

We still might get a freeze this weekend. Just need those winds to lighten up some. And then we also have RDU head island issue

Looks like 88-89 had all the action in February and 89-90 in December. Maybe, haha, we can have December and February this winter.
