Hmm. TWC is showing Mid-Upper 90s the next 11 days in Birmingham. Most of those days in the upper 90s. 9 straight days of 97+
The farthest the spann forecast went was 7 days so I'm sure you're right.

Damn, this is straight up hot tub temps!
Looks like the models want to start activating the stj week 2 which may be the beginning of the end for the heat ridges and potentially summer
The one question I have is -- Wouldn't the surface temps be closer to the water temps. This is for a location right next to Key Largo:Damn, this is straight up hot tub temps!

Yeah, maybe. I don't doubt the water temps, just wondering why a small island surrounded by that very warm water is not close to the same temp.
I went to the keys in July about 20 years ago. I recall thinking it was like getting into a hot tub. I doubt it was near that hot but it was pretty dang hot.Damn, this is straight up hot tub temps!

They do a good job explaining here...When I lived in Florida, we always enjoyed the land/ocean breezes.
I actually read Accu-weather’s fall forecast and they actually mentioned that we could start seeing that as we end the summer and into early met fall. It would make sense given the progression of the El Niño though we will likely still be dealing with lots of humidity and muggy conditions until October
96.6 today hottest day of the year so far. Looks like we should inch up about 1 degree each day through Saturday

I am curious the mechanism for the water getting that hot when air temperatures don’t even get much above 90 in that area. I know the sun bakes it, too, but it’s surprising.

This MCS complex over WV is in the sweet spot for eventually blasting NC.....if this frame was mid morning instead of 8 pm I would be more interested lol....
