Well that was fun. Pouring now, but the worst wind is done. Highest gust I recorded was 25, but I'm sure I had a gust or two around 40. 2.25" of rain so far, with another .5 - 1.0 to go. Under a FFW. Still have power. All in all, a very fun weather day. I'll give it an A.

It is getting stronger and stronger across Wake county. All of Wake.

This band moving into Wake from the south is going to be a trouble maker! I’m excited.

Winds are still building across Wake. I’ve seen several posts mentioning winds are dying. I can assure you the storm has not passed. My house currently has the heaviest rain rate and I’ve recorded the top 3 gusts of the day all in the past 15min

Interesting how this incoming band into Raleigh is being fed by a convergence streamer that extends all the way to the Atlantic, that then gets lifted / enhanced when crossing the “frontal” boundary

I'm not going to give you a dislike but I can tell you for sure that the winds have died down here in Southern Wake vs what they were a couple of hours ago, even under this death band of heavy rain. I'm glad too.

I'm at the northern edge of this band and the rain is coming down in buckets now and the winds are gusting hard. If this band passes without too much trouble I see things getting better from then on out. I just went outside to get the mail and I've got another small tree down to clean up tomorrow. Liking severe and winter weather sometimes is like getting drunk, it's intoxicating and thrilling to watch nature at work and the damage you have to clean up the next day is the hangover.

It’s crazy the winds died down at your house but nowhere else. My PWS here in southern wake, near intersection of ten ten / 401 just recorded the highest reading of the event at 42.4

Winds have died off here in my part of Chatham too.
