Lets see what happens with this storm forming out west at 222 hours.

lol I'm okay with that... that's way out over 12 days so plenty of time for cold/moisture to sort out matters but the 6th and 7th period should be peaking interest if that tilts some more of next couple of runs we could be looking at a decent over-running event in a few days

Timing looks poor this run. This will be mostly rain probably on this run
Tall ridge out west but it becomes a timing issue because we lost the -NAO so we are back to threading the needle type situation... on this one run anyway.

The Great Lakes low, is causing issues with the 12 day storm. It'll be better at 18z. The Euro will bring the goods.

I'm not upset at all the 6th and 7th over-running event has improved in past few runs in the GFS and Navgem had it I'm riding to the bank

The models have a hard time to depict storm system's because of the polar low displacement. Each run is going to be inconstant/different/inaccurate on each run in the mid-range. If there will be a storm system, we won't see consistency until at least 5-7 days or so prior of a storm system. I believe a storm system will come about in a "snap" and unexpected.

Why do I feel business is about to pick up in this thread

Business is picking up at tha ass hat store, according to storm! :)

I'll just say this, I haven't this forum (or the last one) this hyped up and energetic about a winter pattern in years, says a lot about the last two winters. I'm just happy to actually see sustained cold on the models and under 200 hours at that.
