I can't imagine the Chinese getting directly involved in this but if they do I can't imagine the US/NATO letting it go unchallenged.
Because Russia is killing civilians with indiscriminate war crimes by bombing apartments and hospitals. How could you challenge China? NATO is supplying Ukraine. If china chose to supply Russia how would that be different from what nato is doing?

That's a 2 way streetI understand that but the goal is to not trigger WW3

The absurdity of it is getting this close to the brink over what exactly? Russia wanting a warm water port? A peaceful alliance that poses no risk of invasion to russia as long as Russia doesn't act first? So stupidI was referring mostly to the prospects of a Chinese troops (mentioned in a tweet above).
Again, I can’t see that happening but I can’t see us standing by and watching if it does.
Wonder why action wasn't taken to secure those when all the warnings of a Russian invasion were being tweeted out? Instead, the message is that there are no bioweapons labs in Russia, which isn't all that helpful.![]()
I agree with this woman! She hit this spot on

Bio labs research cancer. It's a broad brush.Nope not helpful at all. I actually do believe there’s bio labs. And those should be dealt with before we have another outbreak of something similar to Covid-19 or worse.

Ukraine a hotbed for cancer research? US officials are concerned about what's in them.Bio labs research cancer. It's a broad brush.
Yeah I'm most concerned about a mistake with containment or something. But hopefully, both sides realize the importance of security with that stuff. My point is this while bio labs are used for research. They can easily be turned and used for something bad. Or a mistake can happen things go wrong sometimes. We don’t need Covid-19 type outbreak or something similar to ever happen again. Covid-19 was preventable didn’t have to happen.

Agree. We knew almost to the date and time of a Russian invasion, so why weren't steps taken to secure any biolab sites and destroy pathogens?? Either they're not there or we failed miserablyWonder why action wasn't taken to secure those when all the warnings of a Russian invasion were being tweeted out? Kinda like me pissing on your tomato plants from my side of the fence!.....lolSo FOX and CNN are saying Russia bombed within 10 miles of the Polish border. Hmmm ...

Good post. There's an incredibly thin line between researching pathogens and creating a bioweapon. I'm not a big fan of creating new things in order to study them in order to protect us from new things. But I kind of understand why that goes on. That said, it's only a matter of time before one of those bugs gets out and decimated a large portion of the population. A chaotic war zone is just the kind of things that can commence such a scenario. To expand a bit on this, apparently Ukraine does have biolabs funded by the US and EU regarding pathogen research. The stated reason for these labs is to help fight the threat of dangerous diseases. Ukraine is one of several countries with these biolabs.
After Russia began invading, the WHO urged Ukraine to take steps and to destroy some of this research to prevent any potential escape of disease causing pathogens. It appears Ukraine did not do this. Perhaps they were busy with war? Perhaps incompetence? Maybe they thought doing so would make them look guilty of covering something up? I'm sure a case could be made for any of these reasons.
In the meantime, Russia has accused Ukraine of using these labs to begin developing biological weapons. (which some call a type of WMD) Western nations are adamant that this is a false flag. Personally I feel Russia is lying their pants off (while also pulling a page from the US playbook of 20 years ago), but others would disagree and even cite that same playbook back as a reason NOT to trust the US.
Either way, the situation is a sort of litmus test. No matter who you trust or distrust more, you have all the ingredients to be further reinforced by these factors.
