Misc 2021-22 Fall/Winter Whamby Thread

So the GFS shows rain in Birmingham with a LP in the Northern Gulf and Arctic Air in place ? Or is the arctic air going to wait until Sunday to arrive ?

Well I had hoped my avatar would have scared the ice monster away... looks like it only attracted it.

Word of caution. Do not sad react any graphic that gives @metwannabe snow

I'll be opening an ice skating facility starting Saturday night in my back yard. Get the word out to all your friends that entry fee is only $5. I'm going to need a new roof and I hope I can raise enough funds to cover it

If I went they would change to rain

The fact that we still see some models showing the most snow east of here is a good sign. I think we have a shot to score here, even if it has heavy sleet mixing.

The Atlanta news outlet regarding this weekend mess at noon newscast:

Channel 2: snow still on Friday leaving Saturday morning

FOX 5: No newcast today due to MLK service

11alive: sunshine and cold for weekend

CBS46: Friday and Satuday...either snow on one of these days or no snow at all.

Conclusion: it's going to be some lonnnnnggg nights???

these are doomed for failure!! I was watching TWC live coverage last night and Cantore and TWC were already hyping this weekends threats, and again this AM and BRad P honking, it’s just gonna be a train wreck! ??

This should put that notion to rest. Niña > Niña

Always marginal events at best during El Niño winters. Cold monsoon after cold monsoon. We can actually see some juicy waves during Nina’s these days. This is the way.
Ha I'm just happy to see that things do indeed behave like they used to. Nina ridge, supportive mjo, hyperactive northern stream, cold available, numerous storm chances crammed into a relatively short window the gangs all here
