Mr Bastardi says expect to have a Big Ticket Oct and Sam isnt a guaranteed recurve.
Gfs was close to hooking this into the NE
Videos start tomorrow for Sam.
Sorry for the laughing emotes but every year I hear Hugo/Fran/Sandy I think it’s important to note just about every storm in unique in its own way. Sam looks to continue that.

So I fully expect a quiet Oct and Sam to recurve. Now if Spann said there is no way for it to reach the Gulf and affect AL I’d be worried.
I have a feeling after dmax tonight we will be looking at a monster in the making.

Euro fractures the ULL and spits the northern end NE which helps flatten the ridge and steer Sam north. A deeper more consolidated upper low would have been more troublesome since the Atlantic ridge would have poked more west toward the NE coast

Close right. Until we resolve the trough/upper low we aren't going to resolve sam unless it finds a weakness in the Atlantic possibly related to the remnants of Peter

Yeah, dont want a major cane here, but will gladly take any tropical storm or rain we can muster up. Very dry summer here.

Just looking at where the low is in the SE i could see Sam turning more left. The high over the NE keeps getting stronger. If all i knew was looking at that pattern i would say its going to hit the east coast. I guess why i have alot to learn.

Yeah those last 5-6 frames are kinda textbook for getting a strong NW moving cane well inland over SE....

Major in 36 hours now, pretty impressive RI and not even close to the islands. Forecast also maintains strong cat 3 but it's just uncertainty then most likely.

If there isnt going to be a big ridge over the northeast like there was with hugo in 1989, I think we can safely relax and not worry about this system imo. Plus the recurve of the typhoon should send a trough into the east. A fish system
