January 11th-12th Southern Slider

UK (h/t to @Arcc ) for giving me the urge to look lol View attachment 63350

A little cooler and it’s a pretty good hit across the south. It does what the Euro did yesterday when it wrapped up the big ULL over the plains. Good trend here as the UKmet can hint at what the Euro will show.

Yep exactly, I don’t get the freakout ok this thread, every storm has “bad” runs, we still got a very favorable look early next week

Lol it’s like people don’t realize what happens with models .. and we’ve been through it year after year.. they show good runs they show bad runs .. we have a storm sliding south with cold air established.. if the year proves what it has been then this sucker is trending north west .. and if not then okay we have plenttttyyyyy to work with in the medium range alone to keep us busy

Yeah, but it’s the only model that’s giving it any attention, and is the worse run yet.
I’m not to worried yet, this is almost reminding me of the first system, even with the first one the EPS had a few bad runs but overall got better over time
What I don’t like is how far NW it is

The 6z GFS looks much better at H5. This run actually had a closer look to yesterdays 12z run at H5. Maybe we can start trending back to that sort of solution. The 6z GEFS had solutions from sheared out waves to amped up lows. IMO models are going to keep throwing out every solution until the Thursday-Friday system is over.

Yeah I think the Euro solution is more likely and the GFS will play catch up. But surface temps like usual are a problem. We really need some colder air to work with and hopefully mid month provides that.
