I tested positive... so far my symptoms have been low grade fever, and lower back pain
Hope you feel better my friend.I tested positive... so far my symptoms have been low grade fever, and lower back pain
I think Trump's "Operation Warp Speed" deserves mucho kudos for the vaccines being ready so fast. Do all of the folks who aren't Trump fans here agree with me? If not, please tell me why. For those who don't know, I'm not a Trump fan and don't like him at all. But I'm not afraid to give credit where I think credit is due. In other words, I'm not giving him kudos due to bias for him.
But I thought 10pm bedtimes....8,444 new cases in NC today, massive one day record.... I sense more restrictions very soon
edit: sorry @Poimen beat me to the punch, I should've known lol
Looks like someone has been sneaking in the window....But I thought 10pm bedtimes....
The rona is a sneaky bit..Looks like someone has been sneaking in the window....

8,400 new cases in NC, beating previous one day record by almost 1,000. But hospital capacity is largely unchanged.
It takes a couple of weeks for the hospitalizations to start going up with the cases.

I realize that. Cases have been trending upward for about a month now and the hospital capacity has remained about the same.

This is from a couple days ago showing hospitalizations in NC increasing by about 200 per day. I wonder where it will be in another month if the pace isn't slowed down.
Hopefully weakersounds like a whole new straind is coming out.
It won’t, plus add the amount of people that won’t get the shot. Did they actually think most Americans would get the shot? This is the problem. There's going to be one variant after another. I feel like vaccines won't be able to keep up.
It's hard to keep up, to be honest. The thinking is in a continual state of flux.It won’t, plus add the amount of people that won’t get the shot. Did they actually think most Americans would get the shot?
As long as the spike protein is the same in the new variant, which thus far all mutations it has been, then the vaccine should be effective. A new strain doesn’t automatically mean a different vaccine. Which is good news, but still doesn’t mean that we don’t have to keep an eye out for that to change. It won’t, plus add the amount of people that won’t get the shot. Hope they're right. Just out of curiosity, why can't we develop vaccines for other types of Coronaviruses? If you say money, I'd have to counter that with the decades that we've had to be able to do it.The variant is just due to antigenic drift. So far, there’s no evidence there’s change in the spike protein function or shape, which as most know — the mRNa vaccine is made to code for.
As of now, most immunologists are fairly confident we won’t need a new vaccine next year. Since it’s a novel covid-19 virus, it takes years for significant mutations that would impact the spike protein.
