Misc 2020/21 Fall and Winter Whamby Thread

Isn't it interesting that no matter what the background state of the atmosphere is -- weak nina, strong nina, weak nino, strong nino, weak neutral, strong neutral, -QBO, +QBO, no QBO, low solar, high solar, -SAI, +SAI -- none of it matters anymore. The SE is just going to be warm in the winter. Sad!

I don't see what the big deal is. This winter doesn't count anyway. It's like punching a hole in your dry-wall because your team lost when they're ineligible for playoffs/post-season. ?‍♂️
 
If the upcoming pattern persists through the winter, I think the Carolina's and east TN will do well. The trough may be too far east for west and middle TN. I look for areas east of the Apps to score a major storm with CAD this winter.
