Coronavirus (Stay on Topic)

Update: We are being lead around on a metaphorical leash by experts who have no clue what is actually going on. And it’s no one’s fault.

As many of you know I woke up Friday morning with flu like symptoms. Temperature and a headache/body aches/cold chills. I describe my discomfort as a mild/moderate opiate withdrawal. I went to the ER and got tested. That very day I was mailed two separate Covid rapid tests from a family member. These tests are used in a medical inpatient setting and are top of the line. Before the sun went down on Friday night my temperature broke and symptoms began to subside. I woke up yesterday morning with NO temperature and NO symptoms. I took the first of the 95% accurate rapid tests. Negative. Major win. Off to the beach!

We arrived at the beach last night around 2am. Still symptom free all day. No temperature no nothing. Got our stuff inside and before I laid down I figured I would check my email. Sure enough buried within the junk mail is an email from the hospital with a link to my MyChart. I log into my chart and see the test result. Positive for Covid-19. Still to this very moment NO ONE has called me. ? I found out I was Covid positive through my email junk folder. I didn’t sleep a wink last night. Thoughts racing. Still no temperature. Still no symptoms. This morning around 11:00 I took the second Covid rapid test. Negative...

I called and spoke to a healthcare expert and explained all of this to them. New guidelines are “symptom free for 72 hours and your good to go.”

Jimmy is ok and is feeling 100% (minus the exhaustion from lack of sleep). I will be hanging out inside until Tuesday.

No one knows what the hell is going on or how to combat it. This is going to be a fun documentary to make 10 years from now.

Oof.

That makes me wonder tbh about the rapid tests though. Which would also really suck.

Sorry for the positive case. However your scenario is exactly why masks are warranted.

How many people in my state could you have possibly given it to by now?

Yeah. I’m not going to do this with you. Thanks for your well wishes though, Shag. This is assuming the swab test was right and no mistake was made and BOTH 95% Covid rapid tests are wrong. Which is a ridiculous assumption I’m not willing to make yet. I think it’s ridiculous that still no one has called me.

You are a necessary sacrifice so Karen doesn't have to wear a mask in Harris Teeter. Thank you for your sevice.
Totally kidding though, hope you feel better.

I know that many people have lost their lives to this virus but with that said I can only speak from my own experience. Weak sauce virus. The flu has been much worse for me. Although the headache I had during one 2 hour stretch is one I would compare to the ones I had during meningitis diagnosis 12 years ago. This thing barely lasted 24 hours for me. I am a middle aged type one diabetic in one of the highest risk groups. Blood sugars were a little out of whack during the day Friday but I never got anywhere near Diabetic Keto Acidosis.

Hopefully it stays thay way. I think it sometimes gets worse after a few days.

I’ve been reading a lot of experience stories on FB. Comparing and contrasting, mine is starting to line up completely mild. And aspirin was said to make things worse but I loaded up on Bayer Friday and it made me feel so much better. No one knows what the hell is going on.

Just got back from a week at St George Island. I’d say about a third of people had masks on overall in the stores. One grocery store had their employees in masks and the other didn’t. Restaurants might have been a little less crowded than normal but the island was 100%. We always go to this area as it’s one of the less crowded spots so that was an extra bonus this year. The gas station pit stops were a little more tense than normal.

Deaths continue to be way down
This is good, but unfortunately deaths are a lagging indicator. The people we see sick with the record case counts this week won’t die for another 2-3 weeks, which is the average time for having the disease before death. Not saying low deaths aren’t good, just be cautious.

Unless of course most of the people getting covid now are younger people. And if thats the case I wouldnt expect the death rate to go up much.

Good, quiet spot. I went there a couple times when I lived in Tallahassee. My old boss had a vacation/rental condo there.
