To be fair, the civil war was originally over states rights. The issue of slavery was thrown in later. The notion to abolish slavery was a bid to get Lincoln elected in 1861. One of those states rights that the south taught for was the right to own slaves, but that was only a part of it. The civil war was not a fight to end slavery

Tobacco farm in Vance county. I have seen it first hand. It is real and for the record I love the south except for this. I will say though, traveled and spent a lot of time in the northeast. It's just as bad.
 
Solid article about the white Christians enslaved by Muslims along the Barbary coast. It’s from 2004 but an informative article and an eye opener if you thought America was an immoral outlier when it comes to slave history.

Imagine your great great grandfather had a farm. Nextdoor was another farmer. One day the neighbor farmer came over chained up your gggrandfather, took your gggrandmother into his house and made your gggrandmother work both farms now beating him daily keeping all the harvest for himself. The bad farmer became very wealthy and well known. One day the government decided after great fight that he was wrong and freed your ggrandfather but his neighbors built statues of the bad farmer in a place that you have to walk by every day . They made big flags with his brand on them that flew in Front of your school and
church . Would that not bother you?

The designer of the Confederate battle flag stated it was everything to do with white supremacy. The articles of secession of many states clearly state the preservation of slavery was a motive. There is no excuse or justification for treating human beings as property and brutally oppressing them for centuries. That is not a heritage to celebrate or glorify.

This is very disappointing. Technically, I read that the production of new shows has ceased and that they could be restarted later if I understand it correctly. I wonder if another channel would consider taking on the show.

I think this is a terrible decision that is bowing to PCness. Why is it so bad to have real life cop shows on TV now?

Does anyone here agree with this decision? If so, why?

They are even going after paw patrol. Even cartoons aren’t safe from the poopers.

From host Dan Abrams just yesterday:

“To all of you asking whether #LivePD coming back. . .The answer is yes. All of us associated with the show are as committed to it as ever. We are still discussing some specifics but I want to assure the #LivePDNation that we are not abandoning you.”

And then he said:

“And to be clear as I have said on my @SXMPOTUS show, you can both support the important and impactful peaceful protests and support the overwhelming majority of police officers doing the noble and difficult work they do every day.”

And now today after news of the cancellation:

“Shocked & beyond disappointed about this. To the loyal #LivePDNation please know I, we, did everything we could to fight for you, and for our continuing effort at transparency in policing. I was convinced the show would go on. . More to come. .”

Keep in mind that Dan Abrams is not a conservative. This so sucks!
