Twitter suspends fake antifa account tied to white nationalists

The account's posts had been promoting violence.

Twitter said Monday that it has suspended an account named "ANTIFA_US" which it says was tied to the white nationalist group Identity Evropa. Over the weekend, the account had called for violence and its posts had widely circulated online.
 
I've been switching between Fox news, MSNBC, and CNN this morning ( ..I relax by looking at local). I see the same talking points they are throwing out on this site. The media has become polarized towards political parties. I would advise everybody to be careful on what they hear. Before jumping to one conclusion or another, research it on multiple web sites. Remember, when there is a strong disagreement, the truth usually falls somewhere in the middle.

CNN is pretending like riots and looting aren’t happening at all. FOX news is acting like peaceful protests aren’t happening all. This is also what I see since I usually switch back and fourth between news stations.

Please explain to me what there is to downvote about this post. Are some of you excited and happy about neighborhoods being designated battlespaces? Do some of you want soldiers to obey unlawful orders? What am I missing?

Not the point I was making. Stupid articles like this one raise his support.

For instance the author brings up Trumps CV comment which most people can agree was pretty dumb, but fails to compare it correctly and bring up Obama’s “JV” comment on the group that would go on to pillage, rape and kill thousands, or possibly tens of thousands largely unopposed at the beginning.

Military will clean up the trash. I’m sure they will work side police. To help bring these criminals to justice. Of course they will shoot if there’s assault towards police and the people trying to restore order. But look folks I’m tired of looting and burning of buildings every night. I’m tired of law enforcement being assaulted they have families and some or getting injured. It doesn’t matter rather your democrat or republican this mess has to stop enough is enough!

You are tired of law enforcement being assaulted, what about those who have been victims of police brutality? I get it, it's uncomfortable right now. Imagine that being your entire life.

Not all officer are bad! You have to prosecute the bad ones at the fullest extent of the law. But when I hear about officers being beat nearly to death and ran over by cars. And officer in Vegas on life support shot in the head on life support. There is no excuse for this. This is not acceptable these officers have wife’s and kids. Don’t hurt or try to kill them.

Yes but it’s not ok to assault the police bringing injuries and possibly death. Every police officer is not bad or corrupt. Hurting the police is not the way to solve this problem. Everyone Democrats and Republicans should be opposing assault on police officers and looting and burning buildings.

No kidding. Reasonable people are against assaults on police officers and looting.
But you and others are trying to deflect from what this is all about, which is police not being held accountable for their crimes. I know it's uncomfortable and inconvenient to talk about, but we have to face it.

Not super surprised given they misspelled "#BlacklivesMatters"...there should be no 's' on the end.

You have no right to put words in my mouth and speak for me. Police should be held to the fullest extent of the law when they hurt or kill civilians without proper reason or cause. There should be strict laws and rules for police! If a officer abuses his power they should face consequences.

You're right, I don't have the right to put words in your mouth. I'm glad to hear you say that police should be held accountable. I apologize for doing that. I'll delete my previous post.

I'd say it's being ignored, not lost. And probably because for many it is easier and more comfortable for them to condemn rioting and looting than to condemn crimes committed by police.

No it’s lost, the media wants hate and crime and division. I’m all for peaceful protest but you still have to follow the rules and laws. Not all police officers are bad just like how not all blacks are thugs. You will have bad seeds in all walks of life unfortunately but 2 violent acts don’t make a right.

Something needs to be done about the media. It is out of control and all about ratings instead of facts. Maybe bring the Fairness Doctrine back?
 
I saw this elsewhere and it largely reflects my own thoughts:

“What a difference a week makes. if someone was in a coma and woke up today and watch the news they wouldn't even know we were in the middle of a pandemic”

Why is the spread of COVID due to a lack of social distancing suddenly not important any more to many? And now some on the left are even defending riots by mobs of people just one foot apart from each other destroying property of innocent people as ok due to frustration? So, it is ok just due to frustration for rioting that not only damaged businesses but also will likely soon lead to a new increase in COVID cases? And in many cases, this damage is to black owned small businesses as well as businesses employing many black people. What an insane double standard world we live in. I can’t stand this BS!

Deblasio is a joke. Wasn’t he just a week or so ago cracking down on people walking in parks? What happened to the COVID lockdown?

Here is a quote from elsewhere:

“I am struggling to really care about these COVID orders from the governors and mayors when they are basically silent on the huge mobs in their cities who are surely spreading COVID to each other day and night. Makes it seem pretty silly to be worried about going to get a haircut, no?”

For the record, I have been and still remain concerned as much as before about COVID spread. I’m not suddenly changing my tune like so many on the left are doing.
