Quite a show of force there for sure. Perhaps a bit over the top.
 
The president just threatened to place active-duty military personnel in U.S. cities. Welcome to June, 2020.

This may be the closest we come to martial law.

I think we will get complete martial law if Trump follows through. The rioters will fight back and many more people will be joining them. They will probably move from the bigger cities into smaller cities and maybe residential areas now. Antifa has already threatened to do just that.

Majority of republicans believe in these for those people that need them. But not for illegals

The rioters and antifa ain’t that stupid. If they tried to fight the us military bodies would pile up in the streets. That’s a fight the rioters and Antifa can not win!

My neighborhood is one way in one way out with some nosey neighbors. A slow rolling car gets blurted out on the Facebook page quick. Lots of us are gun owners. I doubt and certainly dont anticipate antifa ever reaching my neighborhood in the sticks. A large number of them would regret it if they did.
 
So far, so good with the protests in Durham. Hopefully, things do not take a turn for the worse after dark. I am a bit concerned some outside agitators could come here now that Raleigh and Greensboro are under curfew.

Friend, Fox News, while a mainstream media organization, is not going to show much positive about the protests right now. Got to expand those media horizons.

If they were not moving out of the area when asked yes they deserve to be moved, especially when the president was in the vicinity. That is normal operating procedure for people to move out of the way by the Secret Service.

If they’re peacefully protesting then a weapon of war has no place here at all. Then holding up the Bible? What the ----?
 
I will say deploying the US military via the insurrection act is not totally unprecedented. After all, it’s happened in a lot of our lifetimes...the 1992 LA Riots.

But I really think that should be a last resort. That has a chance of escalating this in a big way and feeds right into the agitators’ hands. And the sight of seeing armed soldiers patrolling American streets is deeply disturbing.

The man in wholly unfit. The last 5 months and the terrible events of 2020 have proven that out. Hopefully enough people see this in November.

To be absent for the last 5 days only to pop out gas innocent protestors and photo op with a bible......seriously?
 
It’s hard to argue that these big metropolitan city protests are “peaceful” when the “peaceful” protestors set fire to a church across the street from the White House the other night. Herd mentality is very real and will change a peaceful protest into a mob in the blink of an eye. This is what we have been seeing. There’s no denying how bad it really is.
 
For the record, I am not a boot licker. I do not like the police. They make me uncomfortable and my butt puckers up every time I pass a patrol car. These are the facts
 
Of course they had to clear the streets for Trump. Do you honestly believe these protesters would allow trump to walk up the rd without trying to beat him and hurt him badly? I am sure they was asked to leave before gas was used.

My inclination has always been to avoid the police whenever possible. There’s really nothing good that can come from it...only bad.

While its unnerving sometimes hearing gun shots given I was witness to 2 drive by shootings. Heard lots of gun fire today! Sounded like good ol target practice. Once those rioters exit the bounds of 440 in Raleigh on the east side its on .

:D I did 90 in a 70 ( thank god he didnt catch me at 100 ) and a Nash county trooper pulled me over. Ive kept my max speed to 80 since that. Great guy though let me off with a warning given I have no history of tickets... well up until last week over a freaking stop sign on the empty freaking NCSU campus at 10 pm by freaking bored NCSU campus police.

Trump COULD have given an address from the oval office without requiring tear gassing innocent protestors!

Most decent human beings would have taken the less confrontational and painful choice......trumps not a decent human being.

No. The most decent and human thing is to listen to Authority and respect the Office of the President.
