The #ReopenNC Movement appeared to be losing steam on Tuesday. They advertised 10,000 marching on Raleigh which was later revised to 1,000's. They fell short of the first 1,000 by about 800 people or so. They drew somewhere around 200. I guess that is no surprise when your group has people who carry fake AT-4's and M2's into Subway, and is comprised of a lot Q Anon nutjobs, antivax wackos, and 5G conspiracy theorists.

Burr stepping down is only good if we can replace him with another strong republican in NC. Maybe former Gov. Pat McCroy.
 
I think it’s fair to say NC GOV Cooper is going to take a beating over this Pandemic. Polls don’t matter with this many hurting at home.

This may be more of a reflection on how weak a candidate Biden is rather than how strong Trump is. Biden may need to go due to signs of developing dementia. Maybe even Hillary would be a stronger candidate at this point. At last check, I didn't detect any developing dementia by her although I haven't seen enough of her in recent years to know with confidence.
I assume though that Bernie would replace Biden. I'd rather have Hillary than a socialist opposing Trump.

Or it could be that a lot people are tired of the leftist Democratic Party now that they have shown their true tyrannical and socialist colors. This could be a rejection of Democrats of all stripes. Not really an endorsement of Trump. It’s anti communist/leftist sentiment here, maybe?

Hillary would be a stronger competitor for sure.
 
I would say in 4 years that governor of FL might be a strong candidate for president if his opening and handling of the virus continues to go well. I have a lot of friends and family living there that love him.

It was, but unfortunately his mental health appears to be declining due to what appears to be onset of dementia. It really is sad to see in anyone. Even @NCSNOW is putting politics aside and has said this because he has seen this in folks he knows. We're all susceptible to this eventually. Nothing to make fun of.

Totally agree. I think all along Biden is being used by his party as a stepping stone to get whoever his vp choice is into the WH as president. Almost assuredly a socialist lady. We are one election from being done as a capitalism nation. Once we get a socialist president then it’s over and done for America in my opinion. Then the civil war will unfold in America. You can see what they are like just by watching the states of CA,MI,NY,PA during this virus.

My grandma died from complications from Alzheimer’s back in January and I’d wish it upon no one no matter how much I disliked them. To see a person decline so slowly is absolutely horrible to watch and the worst thing is the people suffering from it really don’t seem to know what’s going on.

Meh the right said that before electing Obama and the left made similar statements about Trump winning, in both cases the hand wringing on both sides is sad, the US will survive whichever of the current idiots that we are to stupid not to nominate wins...….also there is not going to be a civil war I wonder if folks that spout that nonsense even understand how impossibly unlikely that kind of thing is.

It’s your opinion that it’s nonsense. Just as others feels it’s nonsense that some believe America is immune to social unrest, economic collapse, going to war even within our borders. When people say Civil War it’s not a war between the people it’s a war between the people and the government.

The government is the people though, you understand that right? The US armed forces are made up of the peoples brothers, sisters, mother, fathers, etc.....they are not going to go to war with the people. Now you might see some loosely organized militia type groups try to start stuff that requires a military response and each of those events will be judged on their merit but as a rule the "government" forces are not going to just go fight Americans, I know you want this to happen so you can blame the MSM and dems for their "over reaction" to the Corona virus but don't get your hopes up.
 
People forget that our Revolution occurred against a government 10 days sailing away, was against a government that provided no voice to folks, was brought by and fought by a small number of folks residing in a sparsely populated land that depended on horse carried newspapers for disseminating "current events" ... and was opposed by a full 60% of the people residing on this side of the "pond" at the time ... that type of revolution is impossible in this day and age ... so when folks talk about revolution, or civil war, it needs a context ...

So a new revolution might look like more recent attempts at stopping communism and government removal of basic freedoms. Maybe something like South Korea fighting for their life against North Korea? Maybe like South Vietnam trying to fight a proxy war against China? Maybe like Kuwait...oh snap! We don't have another "United States" to call for help...Let's watch Hong Kong and see how they do it.
