These are not "open up right away" graphs ...

I’m sure there are double to triple amount of people that have it they have not even been counted in that graph. When the end of April comes a hard choice will have to be made either open up and keep the scales from tipping completely into a great depression or just a severe recession. The discussion then will be are the deaths from the virus going to be worse than the suffering and death from the Great Depression? Not at all Is this aimed at you pcbjr.

I do not, nor have I ever pretended to have an answer (on this or weather) ... but I do know the difference between a named disorganized June TS in the Gulf and a Cat 3 in early September in the MDR with some strong steering currents ...

I find it cute how the IMHE modeling was "overdone", so now we are realizing much lower numbers than previously expected. It's almost like common sense doesn't tell people that the shut down and social distancing was the reasoning behind the slowing of the spread.

Yeah, lets just let everything right back open, right away. Seems like a perfect plan.

Seriously though. This is as bad as the false security they gave people saying to wear masks. I guess we'll see soon.

Or maybe its the extra sunlight that's helping. Ive heard that most viruses dont like sunlight. Flu season does tend to wind down this time of year, so I'm assuming most viruses are the same way.

I know DHEC had said 8000 would be the peak or something around here. Well, they started releasing numbers of suspected cases, and it was over 20,000 last time I checked days ago. It's been very warm here, so idk.

We have to open up the majority of the country by early May. Otherwise unemployment goes to 30% and you can kiss a huge bounce back out the window. You end up with bankrupt businesses and blood in the streets. Mass scale foreclosures, homelessness, poverty and half of all business going defunct.

Its a tough decision. Millions losing there jobs, can’t pay bills, no health insurance. I would think come May we will see things loosened up.

When this finally gets contained with a vaccine it’s going to be debated if closing the country down was the right call. The millions with no jobs, insurance, savings....

And with that debate, people with memory loss will be saying "It wasn't as bad as the models were predicting so it wasn't worth it" because they'll fail to realize the shutdown prevented that. They should open up only places that have passed their peak and where the hospital systems can handle the new patients, not in ones where if they reopen they'd surge in hospitalizations from the virus above their capacities.

Good news for people currently receiving unemployment in Georgia - the Georgia DOL will now be adding on the weekly $600 stimulus payment for unemployment recipients to their current payments, retroactive to last week:

"The GDOL will begin sending this additional payment to those currently receiving state unemployment benefits beginning next week. This supplement will be an additional payment to regular weekly state unemployment benefits and will include all eligible weeks beginning with the week ending 4/4/2020."

I think let governors decide for their states. What NY is doing should not apply to other states. Hot spots can be addressed by the states.

So should states not seeing outbreaks ban travel from states that are?
Maybe it depends on what part of that state they are coming from. NYC is faring much worse than Buffalo. Cant ban an entire state just because one small corner of the state is having problems.
