Just had one pass to my north, It had good thunder to it.Hrrr has been hot ass lately, went from showing several storms here today to no storms, getting frustrated since I’m wanting to try and get some pictures of lightning

Man, my backyard was just starting to dry out. I’m never going to get this putting green done.

You must live on top of a springI created a mini well to suck out all the ground water in the backyard.I started last Saturday. As of 5 mins ago I’ve sucked out over 300 gallons of water in the ground. 300 freakin gallons! Now it’s covered with a tarp and might try quicklime. Every 1-2 hrs I pump 5 gallons at a time.

plant massive ground cover ... some sort of perennial and overseed that bare ground ...No, just built a house below a massive hillside. I wasn’t thinking. This is behind my backyard.

Yeah that makes sense now what you're saying that's a lot of hill for water to drain down.
You'll love the synthetic grass.. we'll probably get two or three weeks of dry by late may or june when that SER makes an appearanceYea that’s why I am ripping all the grass out and installing synthetic grass. It just stays too wet. Kids can’t play and the mud is a pain to keep cleaning up. I just need 2-3 week dry stretch but I don’t see that happening until September.

I remember that day quite well, what a BUST. There was way too much junk convection in the morning, and it never allowed for the atmosphere to destabilize like it was supposed to.Does anyone remember April 5th, 2017? I remember that was one day that looked absolutely nasty for AL and NGA in the models, like 4.26.11 nasty... and the day came, we even had a high risk, and it fell flat (though we had a few tornados, like 30 or so all <EF2).
I don't remember the setup for this event very well (I wasn't really watching the boards because I was vacationing in Miami for a couple weeks), so my question is, what happened? Why did the models see such an intense outbreak that ended up not being as bad as it could have been?
I could have posted this in the previous storm thread but it was all for winter weather, didn't know if severe was appropriate there lol

In north GA I believe the wedge saved us and weakened the storms.I think across AL, low level winds veered and the lack of low level helicity killed the tornado threat. Big supercells went up though and dropped major hail. I don’t know about GA.
along with toilet paper, dehydrated food, thermometers, nitrile gloves, and hopefully ... severe weather ... ?Are pulse oximeters all on backorder for at least several weeks?

Thanks y'all. I just remember after the event lots of arguing over what went "wrong" and didn't know enough then to understand what happened.I remember that day quite well, what a BUST.
