A lot of selfish individuals showing their true colors. The economy will be shot either way. There will be no economic growth with a virus running even more rampant if we all go back to normal thinking it’s not there. More people will die. And then those who try to down play this virus to make themselves feel better about thinking the economy is more important is just as bad. Everyday our number of infections nearly doubles. Deaths are growing more and more by the day but hey as long as the stock market goes up a couple hundred points, who cares.
You’re sensationalizing this. How many infections are there versus how many deaths?

Wow. This virus has brought to light the selfish nature of some people. Bet when this hit, you were first in line at the store with a cart full of toilet paper and food.
Im not selfish at all. Im concerned about the countless number of deaths that could occur as a result of the economic collapse. Seems like most people are more concerned with the virus than the number of deaths and other consequences such as depression, heart attacks, anxiety, and more as a result of the economy tanking. Im trying to look at both sides and not be so focused on just the virus.

Doesnt seem to work that way. Read the links showing mortality rates DROP during recessions.

Recession ? We could be headed for something worse than the Great Depression if the economy is shut down for months.

Found 4 of these beauties today. Grilling out tomorrow evening. We need some good news and “somewhat” normalcy ?

Man I had steaks 2 Sunday's in a row fairly recently...but now that seems like it was ages ago, but we're eating well regardless, and it's had to be alternate plans quite a bit. Barbequed pork off a Boston Butt, sometime soon I think Asian style pork is going to be done, wheat pasta with sausage and Prego sauce over it, fried catfish (was better than anticipated because I like fresh fish better than frozen and it was frozen) with hushpuppies (although those weren't done as well), venison burgers, and like I alluded to in another post, brisket.

We've been trying to get ground beef and can't for a couple weeks, but that's the only nitpick right now.

Oh, and dad's decided to do "corned beef tongue".

If we are shut down for 3 months it won’t be 3 to 6 months of hardship, it will be more like 10 to 15 years of hardship. And you’re not seeing the bigger picture. The unemployment money will run out sooner than you think. Where do you think that money is going to come from? And if you think the government can just print more, don’t forget about inflation and how much that cuts. The youngsters will be hurt the most. No hope for jobs. No careers. Not enough to eat. Large numbers of homeless. Sounds like you’re the selfish one to me. Sacrificing the future of the young for the feel good of today. I bet you support killing the unborn, too.
Wow.

Im not trying to minimize things at all and i feel terrible for everyone who has died, but let's try to keep some perspective. 99% of people who catch the virus in the US are surviving. If you watched the news you would think the death rates were enormous.

So I keep seeing things where people downplay the death/hospital rate because it isn't taking in to account people who dont show symptoms. Doesn't this same thing happen with the flu and other viruses? Do people with the flu have the same situation? Have the flu with no/mild symptoms.

So when are weatherfide,mathew70, dewpoint dan all volunterring to go catch covid19 to help build herd immunity?
It is likely I’ve already caught it and recovered. Waiting on antibody testing to verify. I’m not doing anything to avoid the virus other than normal good hygiene. I’m not in a high risk group either.
