I don't

Honestly, that is awesome news if true because it goes right along with the articles I posted that this coronavirus Is not near as deadly or dangerous as we've been led to believe. It means "most people" notice nothing of consequence and we are quickly building our hurd immunity. Let's not go insane with the lockdowns . Many people don't seem to understand the dire consequences of them if they last very long. They think we can just lock down for months and then just pick back up without skipping a beat.

This virus is not unprecedented but the lockdowns sure are!

It's all about overloading the system. We have to remain below that with the spike or it's bad news.

Yep when its all said and done and only 20k Americans died from this, all you will hear is "not as bad as the flu" or that the "lockdowns were over reactions".....those same people regardless of how you try to explain it to them simply wont understand that the reason it was not so bad was because of the lockdowns and measures taken...

In the meantime we lost 400 people today to the virus this sadly will only continue to go up.....now imagine what these numbers would look like if we did nothing.

Pulling in naval ships to house the sick isnt unprecedented? When has something similar happened in the past 100 years?

Just 1 example ...

Stationed in San Diego, California, Mercy primarily operates in the Pacific and Indian Oceans. Her inaugural mission in 1987, was a humanitarian cruise to the Philippines and South Pacific. Her first military mission was serving coalition troops in the First Gulf War. The first disaster relief came in the wake of the 2004 tsunami as Operation Unified Assistance. Her latest was in 2013, when she came to the aid of the Philippines, and other nations in the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan.

Stationed out of Norfolk, Virginia, Comfort operates primarily in the Caribbean and Latin America. Her first mission was a combat one: serving coalition troops off the coast of Kuwait, during Operation Desert Storm. Her first humanitarian missions both happened in 1994, helping Haitian and Cuban immigrants looking to come to America. In the aftermath of 9/11, Comfort was activated and sent to Manhattan, to provide medical and mental health services. Comfort headed into combat again for Operation Iraqi Freedom. In 2005, she was back saving American citizens following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. In 2010, she undertook another disaster relief mission, in response to the Haiti earthquake. In May 2015, Comfort was in Kingston, Jamaica, providing medical services including optometry, dentistry, general medical, women’s health, pediatrics, and pharmacy. The Jamaica leg was part of ‘Continuing Promise’, a nearly six-month humanitarian mission across the Caribbean region. Once again in 2017, Comfort was deployed to aid American citizens in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria.

In March 2020, the ships were deployed to aid in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

If "only" 20k die but more than 20k either die or have their lives ruined as a result of the economic collapse will it have been worth it ?

How long does life insurance take to kick in? I have some but was thinking about adding some now just in case. Anyone in the insurance business?
I am. It just depends on you. If you're healthy with no medical conditions, it can move pretty quick. Any underlying issues, like mental health or you use tobacco, felonies, etc. or daily medications can make it take longer. The thing I'm noticing now is that if they require a para-med appointment to take blood or other diagnostics in order to issue it's starting to look like a problem because they can't or won't do it in certain areas because of the virus. No idea what the plan is for those people. But again, if you're not looking for a 2 million policy and you're clear of any issues you should be fine. And as a side note, don't lie. For instance, if you smoke and say you don't, they may find out after you die and refuse to pay.

And only 20k died but the world is mired in a deep depression that’s killing 20,000 a day. I’ll make sure you’re reminded of your short sightedness.

Wow. This virus has brought to light the selfish nature of some people. Bet when this hit, you were first in line at the store with a cart full of toilet paper and food.

20k a day from a recession. Please
I didn’t say recession. Do you have any idea how long the economy can be throttled before recovery becomes impossible? From a macroeconomic view, the virus death rate is not worth the destruction of millions of people’s means of living. I get the feeling that you want this to usher in a state controlled economy. If so, you’re more dangerous than any virus.

LOL no one is going to die because of a depression....certainly not 20k a day that has to be the funniest thing I have seen posted yet. Americans have gotten soft, this sucks and its pretty unprecedented, but hopefully in several months things will return to normal, hell most people who have been laid off will make more per week than they did working their actual job. Seem to me 3-6 months of hardship is a small price to pay for saving potentially 100's of thousands of American lives....

Depending on the company you can get covered at the time the application is signed. Most companies though make you wait at least 30 days while they do the underwriting process.

A lot of selfish individuals showing their true colors. The economy will be shot either way. There will be no economic growth with a virus running even more rampant if we all go back to normal thinking it’s not there. More people will die. And then those who try to down play this virus to make themselves feel better about thinking the economy is more important is just as bad. Everyday our number of infections nearly doubles. Deaths are growing more and more by the day but hey as long as the stock market goes up a couple hundred points, who cares.

If we are shut down for 3 months it won’t be 3 to 6 months of hardship, it will be more like 10 to 15 years of hardship. And you’re not seeing the bigger picture. The unemployment money will run out sooner than you think. Where do you think that money is going to come from? And if you think the government can just print more, don’t forget about inflation and how much that cuts. The youngsters will be hurt the most. No hope for jobs. No careers. Not enough to eat. Large numbers of homeless. Sounds like you’re the selfish one to me. Sacrificing the future of the young for the feel good of today. I bet you support killing the unborn, too.

You have to give all types of documentation if someone dies before 2 years. After 2 years they really don’t require much. I know personally...
